Well yes, but Twilight was on for ages at various cinemas here in London, right up until about a fortnight before the dvd came out and was pretty cheap to go during the day.

My Eclipse Calendar arrived this morning so I am like this .

Not sure what it is about them that makes me like this, nothing else every got me going like this thats for sure!

I've got all 4 books and have read them twice consecutively already ... Am a bookworm (time allowing) but this is the only time that have ever been able to do that and still enjoy the books each time.

Really hope that Stephanie whatsit gets a move on with the Twilight book from Edward's point of view as I've really enjoyed reading the beginning of it on-line and can't wait for it to come out as a book.

have booked for friday morning! yee ha. Found a friend to drag along...so excited.

Saw it and loved it, although Twilight is still my favourite. However, I went with DH, as my only fellow-Twilighter was away, and it did restrict my swooning over Edward. Not doing that again, I'll go with a fellow convert to see it a second time and swoon feverishly every time RPatz smiles.

DH's only comment, on the tent scene: "Is that really how women think men talk about them???"

8oreighty · 07/07/2010 14:04

my dh got in a mood after watching new moon together on dvd...swooning is hard to repress...

Think Twilight hit the spot because a woman made it...really annoyed she didn't get to do the rest of them.

sayanything · 07/07/2010 14:22

I agree 8oreighty, I think she captured the whole yearning element perfectly, whereas the male directors after her focused on the action more than anything.

lucykate · 07/07/2010 14:32

totally agree too, catherine hardwicke captured the whole teen romance side of it pretty well. new moon director made a real hash of it.

I think maybe I should stop going to see these movies as I was disappointed again.

I'm not remotely attracted to either of the leading men so perhaps this is the problem. I sit there picking holes in the whole thing instead.

tbh the only 'believable' characters in the whole thing (ie do not appear to be in some summer school Stagecoach acting camp for the beautiful and yet deluded) and Billy and Jane. The rest of them are all just trying TOO HARD.

I am lusty [lusty eyes]
and
now I am jealous [twisty jealous mouth]
and
now I am full of angst [fists of restrained rage]

fgs rein it in will you.

On the upside makeup was better (not hard), costumes were better (again not hard) and the CGI wolves were somewhat more believable.

Thank goodness book 4 has a considerably more hefty dollop of the volturi in and we get Michael Sheen back who actually can act his way out of a paper bag.

Slubberdegullion · 11/07/2010 14:28

I mean Charlie and Jane

who is Billy? Is he Jacob's dad?

choney74 · 11/07/2010 14:37

yes its good but r u team jacob or edward?

spaceforthree · 11/07/2010 18:05

Saw it for third time last night and (I can barely admit it) I got a bit bored. I was with DH (again poor love) and a friend who is new to Twilight. I could see that it didn't really stand alone as a film and only worked when you know everything about the whole series. Saying that I was never bored when RP was on screen.

Couldn't agree more with posters who say Catherine Hardwicke was the only one who 'got it'. The film isn't about vampires/werewolves. It's about love and the pain of not being with someone etc etc.

4andnotout · 11/07/2010 18:11

I saw it yesterday and loved it, I even wore my Team Edward vest

Hoping to go and see it with another friend in the next few weeks, she is madly watching twilight and new moon in prep!

Curiousmama · 16/07/2010 13:20

So what happened to Victoria actress? I haven't seen eclipse yet as heard mixed reviews. Think I'll have to take ds1 though he's obsessed and I did enjoy other 2.

pogleswife · 17/07/2010 23:29
