delighted by the fact that it's an 18s. would love if they had done that with the wolverine movie or a batman movie so that they could really go all out

Trailers look wonderful. I have informed DH that this is a 'big screen' occasion (we rarely go to the cinema) and we are going up West next week to see it

Hope its better than 300.

What a load of old shite that was.

Even the torsos couldn't keep me interested.

And it was DH who wanted to switch it off first....so not even a good boys movie.

Anyhow, I will wait to hear some reviews before committing because of the 300 debacle...

I am a bit about changing the ending, because I hope they haven't Entirely Missed The Point. But I will suspend judgement until I've seen it. And it looks sooooo gooooooood in the trailers.

I don't think the ending can have changed much, because the fans of the book seem to be generally approving. If they'd changed it totally the fanboys would've been up in arms. Surely?

RealityIsMyOnly Delusion - your powers must be stronger than mine, have never managed to convince DH to get over the 'it's a comic' factor, and actually read it. Also have yet to break it to him that the film's 2hrs43 long. Suppose I could sell it as being shorter than Lord of the Rings. Though he fell asleep in that. Sigh.

babysitting for a friend Monday so she can go see it with her DH so we probably won't get to go till the week after that...

have another friend who went to a premier of it and said something vastly embarrasing to her friend when Jeffry Dean Morgan was on screen, just as the sound died down. and nearly the whole theater look at her

Saw it last night.

OMG it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!

Won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, I read it the best part of 20 years ago so I don't know if they changed the ending or not, seemed pretty much as I recalled it except for one (very) minor detail.

I had 2 again minor quibbles with it but I think if they had accommodated my main gripe the film would have been 5 hours long, so I can see why they cut it where they cut it.

What I will say is wow - the casting is just amazing, it is truly like seeing the illustrations come to life, they are all so as I remember them.

A brilliant film that looks fantastic as well as being fantastic. The time flew by, I really didn't notice it was as long as it was.

Go see it!!

really enjoyed it too! we were wondering why it was an 18 as ds(15) was so disappointed that he couldn't go.

we could only find it was given 18 for scenes with erectile dysfunction, though obviously was a bit violent
