What are your 3-4 favorite WWII movies? And if you can ponder why they're your favorites, do include that.

Not sure Brief Encounter qualifies as a war movie, it was written by Noel Coward though, do you mean In Which We Serve, which was also his?

@AllaFieraDellEst and @tobee , I'm late to the thread so you might have already watched, but Waterloo Bridge is free on YouTube, Hopefully the link works.

No, I don't see any way that Brief Encounters could qualify as a war movie.
Or were you replying to someone else?

Can't you get free movies from the library where you are?

I enjoyed Where Eagles Dare. Exciting! Just a load of brave Brits getting on with the job. It's believable. Haven't seen any more modern war films, I don't think.

I LOVED ‘Where Eagles Dare’!

Richard Burton climbing up the castle wall is hilarious when I watch it now but even so it will remain one of my favourite ever films as I loved it so much when it came out.

Physical copies, yes. I use YouTube a lot for old films and TV series. Treated myself to a subscription but there's not many adverts on the older stuff.
I thought the link would be helpful for the posters who'd mentioned wanting to watch it.

Edited

I don't know if this is widely available, but I've seen a service whereby you can link up to the library to stream.

Yes some libraries do.
You can stream music and ebooks from mine but not films.
