Ah, he switched the cases over as the new one would be slightly too large to fit in the overhead locker on the plane. He also marked the new bag with a code to class it as cargo. Probably thinking that if it was in the cargo hold it couldn't be set off or might be safer if it was set off remotely

He already knew it could be set off remotely from a distance after Jason set it off from his phone in the toilets when Taron had a gun pointed at him. Jason tells Taron to lower the gun and run to the case and gives him instructions on how to deactivate it. So he knew it could he set off remotely and an explosive device with novochock in it couldn’t possibly be contained or less of a threat just by being in the cargo hold. Any explosive device in a planes cargo hold would cause a massive explosion. So that for me ruined the film. Why not just change the ribbon on the cases then go back for the explosive case and hand it over to authorities. I enjoyed the rest but that 1 part ruined it.

I heard someone on Heart mention that TE was “in the new Carry on film” and I genuinely thought they had remade Carry on up the Khyber or similar - I figured Michael Sheen might be reprising his Kenneth Williams and was all excited to see who was going to be the new Hattie Jaques! Gregg Wallace for Sid James obviously…

Well I just came on this thread thinking it was a discussion about the best Carry On films. Carry on Camping is still my all time favourite.

It was a chemical weapon, containing a nerve agent. Once detonated the chemical would be inhaled by everyone on board killing them. It wasn't an actual explosive, it wouldn't have caused damage to the plane.
also there was a tracker on the Novoachik, jason bateman had it linked to his phone. putting the ribbon on another case wouldn't have mattered. He still would have found it.

I didn't think it was too bad. Difficult to find things 5 adults will all enjoy and we all stuck with this. Though we did have to hit pause to discuss the whole bag swap thing - not sure any of us came up with a plausible answer 🤷‍♀️

Enjoyed it at the beginning then quickly turned into complete rubbish, mind you we watched till the end! But oh my goodness we just started groaning at how bad it was, I mean the stairs down in the plane to the baggage hold , which wasn’t even chilly! We all know how planes work nowadays it was just ridiculous!
