Lord - anyone seen the trailer yet? WTF is going on? And that awful audio of the woman talking over it, Christ that's creepy.

I absolutely loved the first, second was a bit daft but still enjoyable and when I heard about three I did eye roll as what on earth can they do with it? You almost have to create something entirely new after that time jump.

But I have to say I'm intrigued now and can even get over my irrational dislike of Aaron Taylor Johnson to watch.

Just need to wait for the summer Grin

Someone watch the trailer and tell me what you think Grin

I can't wait me. Grin

ElectricMagpie · 10/12/2024 12:21

I stumbled upon the trailer this morning and it's the most disturbing thing I've seen on YouTube in a long time. Gotta see this film!

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 10/12/2024 12:30

Yay!

It really is disturbing isn't it? Almost looks a bit as if life has gone back to medieval times but then some soldiers pop up towards the end.

And the skull trees! Wonder what they're all about?

I really hope ATJ doesn't take his top off as that will spoil it for me. Same for Jack O'Connel Grin

I cannot wait for this film.

Away to watch the trailer immediately!

lakesiders · 10/12/2024 12:33

Anyone know where the first film is available to watch? Two of my favourite films ever. I liked the poem being read over the trailer. Added to the suspense.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 10/12/2024 12:33

Apparently scary voice over is a poem by Rudyard Kipling

Also this film is one of a trilogy. Hmmmm. That doesn't bode well for me.

But still a zombie film next summer sounds ace.

Agree it was very effective at building the tension

It's a great trailer as it doesn't do what they seem to lately and show the entire film so I don't feel the need to watch it!

However too many seasons of the walking dead has left me inured to zombie aftermaths

thenightsky · 10/12/2024 12:35

Oh my goodness. Thanks for the heads up. I bloody love a good horror!

Kibble29 · 10/12/2024 12:36

So I just watched it and it looks like it’s similar to The Walking Dead in the sense of archers, new community being built (like Hilltop and Alexandria in TWD).

Will be full of jumpscares. Even the trailer gave me anxiety. 😂

partydownseason3 · 10/12/2024 12:51

I wonder if it will be inspired by Threads? A post apocalyptic society?

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 10/12/2024 12:52

The skeletal zombie rising in the grass looked like something from Skegness Ghost Train Grin

I was just thinking this sounds like Threads meets Mad Max.

anchorage81 · 10/12/2024 12:57

Also looking forward to this. It's hard to imagine a film having anything new to offer on this genre but the trailer is very effective.

The creepy poem is Boots by Rudyard Kipling, read by an actor called Taylor Holmes - I thought it was a woman too!

StrongFemaleCharacter · 10/12/2024 13:18

Can't wait! Will watch the trailer later if I can find it.

MaggieBsBoat · 10/12/2024 13:24

Just watched it! It looks great! Can’t wait. Very disturbing. The trailer is so good. That poem, the voice of the woman, brilliant!

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 10/12/2024 13:48

Surely after 28 years all the dead people would have risen up already,or do they have a ticket system like at Clark’s? And the newly dead would have been burnt or decontaminated so no more zombies.
Amusingly though someone I follow on X said “Rannulph Fiennes in 28 years later, I’m up for that!” 🤣

Regalrosie · 10/12/2024 13:54

I hope it’s not like the walking dead which lost it for me when they focused more on the characters/community than the zombies 🧟‍♀️ - this is what made 28 days/weeks so good.

Flittingaboutagain · 10/12/2024 13:54

I thought it was a great trailer as didn't give much away at all about plot, central characters etc leaving it all to be discovered.

My only hope is that newborn baby and her mum survive. Absolutely cannot deal with baby zombies!

Tbry24 · 19/12/2024 17:23

Amazing trailer, I love the use of the Rudyard Kipling poem. Very clever.

Just hope the film will also be good.

SocksAndTheCity · 20/12/2024 00:51

28 Days Later is now available to rent (on Prime at least, and probably others) for the first time in years. I'm going to watch it this weekend Smile.

And infected, not zombies [/pedant] Grin

RestYeMerryGentlewomen · 20/12/2024 00:56

The recording was done in 1915 and it’s a man reading it and not a woman.

They may have gone a bit too Mad Max style, will have to see.

Carouselfish · 20/12/2024 01:28

The audio was what made it scary. Agree about it not spoiling movie.

ShesNotACowShesAFox · 01/01/2025 02:28

I cannot wait to see this. The trailer was amazing, exactly what a trailer should be (and so refreshing to see one that doesn’t give away 80% of the movie). It also features my favourite poem, Boots by Richard Kipling - if you understand the background of the poem then you can see how it’s so fitting to a post-zombie world steeped in war
