saw it last night. It is really absorbing

I guess the fact that Carlos Diehz was such an ‘unknown’ amid the sea of such well known actors helped with his role of being an unknown outsider.
I did wonder if it was credible that there could be a cardinal who apparently virtually no one except the previous pope knew existed.

No, apparently any cardinals created ‘in pectora ’ by a pope are automatically rendered null and void by his death if he didn’t disclose their identity before dying.

Guessed the implication of that shot of the razor still being in its sealed plastic wrapping, I assume.

Oh yes I think exactly that- that he was unknown as an actor.

I don;t know about credibility though. I have read alot of the commentary around it (and I don't practice any religion so don't know the nuances) and it seems there has been criticism about authenticity.

I did love it though. And it meant that in the latest Conclave, we were totally riveted- like many I think. That might seem shallow perhaps but I loved feeling like I knew about itt a bit more than otherwise and having an insight into other worlds. TBF that;s what cinema is often about!
