Has anyone been to see it yet? We are going tomorrow so hope it is as good as the first two.

I’ve seen it. I’ve not watched the other two but enjoyed number 3.

Ihatemondays1962 · 09/11/2024 18:45

As an update I did go and see it today and it was great. Not quite as enjoyable as the first two but still very entertaining.

Enjoyed it. Not quite as good as the first two but still worth watching. Shame the actress playing Mrs Brown is different.

Witchesandturnips · 09/11/2024 22:44

I saw it but for me it was just not as good as the others . Perfectly watchable but too much action and a bit of a crappy storyline. I don’t think I’m the target audience though 🤣kiddo loved it. In this one as with similar sequel type films it’s a big deviation from the simple charm of the books and a lot has been lost for true Paddington fans. It’s that innocent simplicity that isn’t there, and it’s noticeable.

Witchesandturnips · 09/11/2024 22:47

Paddington for the instant gratification, scrolling generation. Lots of montage.

minisomum · 09/11/2024 22:51

We’re going tomorrow. All the reviews I’ve read say it’s fine and perfectly entertaining but not a patch on Paddington 2 (which is an actual masterpiece).

Yes I'd say that sums it up perfectly

bumblebee1987 · 09/11/2024 23:15

Saw it today. It's okay. I fell asleep at a couple of points though so I wouldn't say great 🤣 The first two were MUCH better!

RubyTuesday10 · 10/11/2024 01:02

It’s a good feel-good film and Olivia Coleman is utterly brilliant as a sinister guitar-strumming nun but exotic Peru does lack the charm of London and there’s none of the humour of Paddington trying to fit into British life, except for one scene in a photo booth. The plot of Paddington 2 was a better written one with plenty of focus on the Brown family and lots of heart coming from the minor characters who live nearby. Got a bit bored with the plot of this one, mythical Eldorados and quests for gold just don’t feel very Paddington….

HoppingPavlova · 10/11/2024 01:34

Looking forward to it, but it’s not coming out until January here😒.

welshmuma · 10/11/2024 02:10

I didn't find it as humorous as 1&2 .
& I definitely preferred the former 'Mrs Brown' but it was an okay watch.
We watched it in 4DX which added a little more fun into it :-)

Perhaps an idiotic question given the title of the film, but how much of the film is set in Peru? I have loved the other two films, but part of that enjoyment has been the colourful London landmarks and houses and it would get extra points if there is snow or Christmas lighting on a London street

The majority is in Peru. 10 minutes at the start are in London but after that it is all Peru. Its still worth watching though.

There is very little of London in this one. Even the opening scenes are mostly inside the Brown's house so no London landmarks shown.

Fergie51 · 10/11/2024 13:10

I took the family to see Paddington yesterday and found it to be very disappointing. I didn’t think the family had the charisma of the other two films. No sparkle and few laughs for children. Some scenes were very clumsy with poor editing. Just felt flat with the whole film.

LilacLilyBird · 10/11/2024 21:57

Shame Sally Hawkins isn't in it but I saw Emily Mortimer in a film recently and she is suitably awkward and quirky so I don't mind her taking over the role

Paulspots · 10/11/2024 22:42

I absolutely loved it! Am a few years on from my children leaving home and found it really funny and moving.

okydokethen · 10/11/2024 23:53

I was so disappointed, the first two films are great. This one was pretty dull.

blueskies18 · 12/11/2024 11:14

Is this OK for 2 years old?

blueskies18 · 12/11/2024 11:15

i would like to take my 2 year old to cinema and wondered if this is suitable?

okydokethen · 12/11/2024 11:49

Lots of two year olds are fine at the cinema but I wouldn't recommend this film for 2 it's quite dull

blueskies18 · 12/11/2024 18:18

just was thinkign to do something different with my 2 year old. Lol. thank you

blueskies18 · 12/11/2024 11:14

No don't think a two year old would sit through the whole film, sorry.

HoppingPavlova · 14/11/2024 03:15

To be fair, you could have the most exciting kids film in the world but it would be near impossible for a 2yo to sit through it. That’s not what their brains are up to. Thats why kids shows aimed at that age group are so short.

HelenWheels · 17/11/2024 16:33

it was great, agree paddington 2 was better.
this was more indiana jones
