Zone of Interest.

Extraordinary film making.

The original Jurassic Park always stuck with me. The special effects were amazing for the time.

Other memorable ones include The Sixth Sense and Vanilla Sky.

The original Star Wars in 1977. In Dolby stereo sound. It was magnificent.

I went to see this as well. The UK premiere in Leicester Square. Can't believe it was so long ago.

Seeing Trainspotting in an American cinema was v v entertaining - at the start staff handed out little vocab glossaries!

The one that stands out for me is inception. I've watched it lots of times at home but the cinema just makes it better and you need a lot of concentration to actually understand it as it is complicated. The ending was fab but I think some folk didn't quite get it. It went over DHs head until I explained and then he was like ah right so it was.

Quite like a bond film at the cinema too or a gd Batman film etc. I saw all of lord of rings and hobbit too they were great films but very long for at the cinema!

Titanic in 1998 without a doubt.

I was in a big group and what made it so special is that we were all there to see a small, independent film that had sold out along with everything else apart from Titanic, which was on three screens.

We were all really disappointed but after literally the first three minutes I knew it was going to be incredible.

I cried for ten minutes in the toilets afterwards...

Earthquake in 1974 and was shown with surround sound so that you felt you were experiencing in the earthquake!

Fabulous experience!

Sunbird24 · 13/04/2024 17:20

My favourite ever cinema memory is still when pretty much everyone in the cinema pulled their feet up at the same moment in Jurassic Park!

Brexile · 13/04/2024 17:21

Either Mary Poppins when I was little, or The Incredibles (twice!) when DS was little He was really obsessed 😂

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 13/04/2024 17:25

Showing my age but Out of Africa was breathtaking on the big screen. I also watched the original The Colour Purple in the cinema too and cried so much that the collar of my tee shirt was wet!

YesYesAllGood · 13/04/2024 17:25

Arachnophobia! There's a really tense moment and then the exterminator (John Goodman) suddenly appears. The whole cinema burst into cheers and applause.

isitbananatimealready · 13/04/2024 17:26

Star Wars. Wins hands down.

There are very few others I've seen that even come close, Raiders of the Lost Ark being one, and The Full Monty being another. And the only time I ever sat watching a film in the cinema and thought within a couple of minutes 'this is going to win Oscars' - Evita.

MariaVT65 · 13/04/2024 17:26

Bridesmaids when i was on holiday in Florida. Seeing it with a US audience made it even funnier. And the popcorn is amazing.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 13/04/2024 17:26

Titanic

MariaVT65 · 13/04/2024 17:28

I’m sad to have first seen Titanic on VHS when it came out, was slightly too young for the cinema rating. I made sure to see it later in 3D though!

The young folk of today... I feel sorry for them in a way, because they will never get to experience it like we did.

Is it treason if i say i really enjoyed The Last Jedi at the cinema?

If I was alive back then, that would have been my answer. I guess it would have to be Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

For anyone alive back then, Star Wars literally IS the only answer.
