Best war / true story films?

I've watched many war films, mainly ones about WW1 & WW2. (1917 is the best!!!)
However, recently I've been watching films based around Navy Seals.

Lone Survivor is one of my all time favourites!!

I haven't watched 12 Strong, 13 Hours or Hurt Locker, are they worth the watch? I know Hurt Locker is meant to be amazing but the other two have mixed reviews.

I really enjoy films based on true stories and true hero's!! Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon, Captain Phillips, Lone Survivor, American Sniper etc.. can anyone recommend similar films?

Oh, God - Gallipoli just breaks me every time. It’s unbelievably sad and unbelievably good. I first watched it decades ago and have never forgotten the power of that final scene.

The Killing Fields. I have a personal connection and it really is an extraordinary film. It was extremely challenging to make and the actor who played the central character has an extraordinary life story.

Not a war film, but a true story set in Australia about the first moon landing.

One of my all time favourite films. It does have some slight basis in fact as the JG Ballard novel it is based on draws on his memories of his childhood in China.
