Any film about the Holocaust - The Pianist, Schindler’s List. I watched Sophie’s Choice today - amazing. That last 15 mins is just so painful. Horrendous. But Meryl Streep is amazing - speaking fluent Polish and German...and she really is beautiful in an unconventional way.

The Pursuit of happyness gets me every time. Both sad and happy tears. Will Smith is brilliant in it

Goodbye Christopher Robin

StrongAgain15 · 19/06/2020 01:12

"Homeward Bound" gets me going throughout! 😭

A film called "Losing Isaiah" is another one too.

A hundred others but I'm sure most have been said already 😂

RoseParade · 19/06/2020 01:36

I can't remember the name of it but the film is about a couple who can't have children and they sort of wish a boy into their lives, he's made of trees IIRC? Sounds silly but I watched it a few years ago with DS (about 7 at the time) and we both sobbed and snotted our way through it! Somebody Green?
Black Beauty
Hugo
Big
Ballerina
Gone with the wind
Bambi
Forest Gump
Watership Down
Actually, I've just realised I cry at least once during most films!

Muslimah2020 · 19/06/2020 01:52

Eat Love Pray - by far my favourite film and I always watch it when I need a good cry

Montybojangles · 19/06/2020 18:15

@RoseParade was it the odd life of Timothy Green?

RoseParade · 19/06/2020 20:43

@montybojangles yes, that was it, thank you!

supercatlady · 19/06/2020 20:45

Definitely Maybe

www.imdb.com/title/tt0832266/ - I sobbed!

The fault in ours stars too

Terms of Endearment..One of the best films I’ve ever seen.
One Flew over the cuckoos nest...always gets me at the end.
Forrest Gump...I always go at the same time, when Jenny dies and the feather at the end.
Casper...Took DD to see it when she was little. We were both in floods coming out of the Cinema.

augustusglupe · 19/06/2020 21:15

Not an obvious one, but me and DH watched Grand Torino with Clint Eastwood earlier this year. Had me really crying at the end. God he’s still a fantastic actor.

Big Fish, it's a time Burton film and it's brilliant but the ending will make you weep

My girl

Wishihadanalgorithm · 30/06/2020 19:56

I don’t think anyone said “Million Dollar Baby.” Brilliant but truly awful.

I saw a PP said “Who will love my children?” I saw this when I was a child and just thinking about it makes me want to ugly cry.
