Really like John Cusack as an actor but only fancied him in Con Air.

OK, Tony Blair...I only really started fancying him when Cherie announced her 4th pregnancy (goodness, what does that say about me?) Liked the piece Julie Burchill wrote about it which sort of summed up how I felt (she compared Tony getting his wife pregnant with Bill Clinton's sad cigar and stainless steel sink shenanigans with Monica and reckoned Tony was sexy, Bill was not).
It's a kind of oooh, he's running the country and he's powerful but he still loves his wife and they still have sex and he's fertile! I know they already had kids before that though and I didn't fancy him then at all. I really don't agree with many of his policies although I do approve of others. And I think he's clever and sort of capable looking. So I suppose it's a combination of brains, power and perception of virility. Oh Dear, how embarrassing

nexus · 09/09/2002 15:44

Matthew Mcconaghy
Antonio Bandaris
Freddy Prinze Jr

And one for the older ladies out there:
Sean Connery

I've also got a soft spot for Sly Stallone, Arnie and the muscles from Brussels (I like big men).

Don't know what that says about me - either I have quite a varied taste in men, or that i'm not too picky!

jodee · 09/09/2002 16:22

Enid!! I thought I was the only one who liked weirdos, what IS it about Christopher Walken!
Don't tell me - you quite like Steve Buscemi too ...

I actually quite fancy Archie in Monarch of the Glen (I think the programme's pants, though) ...

Jaybee · 09/09/2002 16:40

This thread is not good for me being at work!!!
Have to agree with Sean Bean mmmmm, and Clive Owen, and Thierry Henry also Jude Law is lovely but my favourite has to be Dr Alex Adams from Holby - yes I know he's gay!

susanmt · 09/09/2002 16:48

Mine are awfully predictable -

Pierce Brosnan - mmmmmmmm and dh looked like that when he was younger!
Whatever his name is who plays Chandler in 'Friends'
George Clooney - oooooh he was soooooo yummy in 'Ocean's 11'
Pete Sampras - those shoulders!
Tom Cruise - really when he was younger but goooooorgeous in 'Minority Report'
Will Smith - he is so smooth and I suppose the fantasy is that I could attract someone as smooth as that!
Young Sean Connery - he's got a bit wrinkly lately, but if you close your eyes his voice is enough ......... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

And I also cannot got my head around Tony Blair - yeuch!

ticklebyday · 09/09/2002 18:05

Glitterbabe

WideWebWitch · 09/09/2002 19:02

Oh YES, agree with Matthew McConaghay or however you spell it and Robert Downey Jr.

MandyD · 09/09/2002 19:40

I can't even think of 5 but here's my top 2:

Dennis Hopper; and
The bloke who starred as Judge John Deed (think he's in A&E too) who was in the Professionals in the '70s and I can't remember his name (

emsiewill · 09/09/2002 19:47

Martin Shaw

XAusted · 09/09/2002 20:09

Viggo Mortenson, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlisle, Rupert Everett (what a waste!), Colin Firth, Hugh Grant (thank goodness he got his hair cut), Damon Albarn, hmm need two more for a top ten. Perhaps eight will have to do.

My dh looks like Steve Punt, or possibly Hugh Dennis, not sure which one's which.

Marina · 09/09/2002 20:13

Now this is what I call a thread...

Clive Owen
Neil Dudgeon
Damian Lewis (even after playing Soames Forsyte)
Noah Wyle
Robert Downey Jr (most gorgeous eyes in Hollywood)
Steve Martin (token older man)
Almost entire male cast of The Crow Road except for David Robb, the murderous scoundrel
Jeremy Northam (looks like I've got him all to myself, mmm hmm)

Enid, CW is just slightly too weird for me, but I do like a man who can shake a tail-feather...

fairy · 09/09/2002 20:52

Thinking about my list, will come back later with that....however....

Who put Neil Pearson, cause he is slightly short, not to bad though, as in the dim and distant past I had a treat on my way back to work on the central line one day.

Got on, sat down, not looking around really, just for a clean seat and no tramps! and got comfy, looked up and there he was!!!!!!
Right in front of me, and what did I do I smiled at him like such a moron!
But he smiled back!!!!! YES! But then when hoping he would get off at the same stop as me, White City, I presumed of course that he was going to the BBC, I manged to stand still looking at him expecting him to get up as well, he didin't and then in my blind panic to get of the tube I managed to walk into one of those upright hand rails and virtually fall out of the train!!!!!!!!! How sad am I!!!

But I did have a smile on my face the rest of the day!!

Fionn · 09/09/2002 21:02

fairy - I saw Neil Pearson in a pub a few years ago. Unfortunately I was with my p**d best friend who went up to him and said "My mate fancies you" and he came over to talk to me. I was so tongue-tied, I couldn't thing of anything interesting or witty to say. Next time...

Carrie's carpenter boyfriend (Sex & the City)

Al Pacino in Godfather - agree with whoever said he's gone all scary/weird looking. Looks really scraggy and raddled now.

Used to quite like Drew in Neighbours until he married Drip Girl.

Robert Downey Jnr

Jack Lang - French Culture Minister.

Jari Litmanen and Patrik Berger

Oh, I'll need to think some more about this one.

leander · 09/09/2002 21:29

Tinker · 09/09/2002 21:33

leander · 09/09/2002 21:36
