Saddest film you've ever seen?

So I'm sitting here watching Seven Pounds (Will Smith)
I've seen this film loads of times, but it never fails to make me cry. Like proper ugly cry, tears streaming, everything.
This is the only film that does this to me. I think it's so underrated.

What movies do this to other people??

Hatchii a dogs tale. left me actually sobbing proper deep sobs it is the saddest film I have ever seen !

Independence Day, when the alcoholic pilot is proved right, sacrifices his life to safe the world and regains the respect of his sons, makes me blub like a baby. I’m welling up now just thinking about it.

Philadelphia - first saw it in my late teens when I was very hard nosed and cynical and blubbed like a baby at the end.

Monsters Ball - not so much sad as downright depressing. Saw it at the cinema and felt so drained and miserable afterwards, wish I hadn't bothered!

'Beaches' it's an old film from the 80's but it was on TV recently and even though I knew what was going to happen I balled my eyes out. And I kept crying after the film finished ffs. It's happy and funny throughout and then the end... So, so heartbreaking.

What is it about Marley and Me? I don't especially like dogs but I cry every time! Also Beaches when in my teens was my go to film when I needed a good cry. Haven't watched it in years.

Grave of the Fireflies - a Studio Ghibli anime. An IMDB reviewer called it “The best movie you’ll never want to see again”. Pretty accurate 😞

Lion. I watched it on a plane, started sobbing a few minutes in and didn't stop. Just sobbed and sobbed. True story, too. It's a beautiful film. I recommend it.

Well it's just finished and I'm now a sobbing, snotty, ugly mess...

I haven't seen a lot of these, I need to watch them, love a sad movie.

Ah yes, the Green Mile.. that makes me cry every time, but just a couple of tears, not ugly crying, that was just the first time I watched it. My son however, was a state after that. He buried himself under a blanket and cried for 20 mins after! (He was 13!)
