Hacksaw Ridge...best movie I've seen in years

Railgunner1 · 08/04/2017 07:41

2016 - Moonwalkers. Very rude and violent, but totally hilarious.
2017 - Logan. Who doesn't love the Wolverine?

HiDBandSIL · 08/04/2017 08:32

Moana

Itchyandscratchy · 08/04/2017 08:42

Moonlight was dh & dd1's favourite. I really liked it but at a push would put La La Land ahead just because I was thoroughly invested.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 21/04/2017 12:15

2016 - Deadpool

2017 so far (others will have to work very hard to do better) - T2 Trainspotting

SpareASquare · 21/04/2017 12:18

Trainspotting 2
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Captain Fantastic

Xmasbaby11 · 21/04/2017 12:20

Moonlight or Manchester by the Sea. Both amazing!

superoz · 18/07/2017 19:42

Your Name - a Japanese anime film about two high school teenagers who randomly swap bodies at different points in time.
Absolutely loved it, so beautifully animated and well written. It's as good as Spirited Away which is one of my favourites.

GuiltyFeet · 18/07/2017 20:06

Ghostbusters, but I also loved Moonlight and Get Out

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 19/07/2017 16:18

Lion. Saw it first time 2 weeks postpartum. Cried great big heaving mucus-y sobs. Saw it again when it came out on DVD. Cried great big heaving mucus-y sobs Grin

And I agree that LaLaLand was disappointing. I actually fast forwarded at the end to see if there was more, I thought a film that has won so many awards can't possibly be that boring. Nothing happened in it!

NikiBabe · 19/07/2017 19:09

I can't pick one but among my favourites were Lion, Wonder Woman, Get Out.

But I am seeing Dunkirk soon so that may be a winner.

implantsandaDyson · 19/07/2017 21:28

Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Hell or High Water, Get Out - I can't decide

Kimber2 · 19/07/2017 21:41

The best I've watched was The Maze and I kind of liked Sully too. I also loved watching Moana and Beauty and the beast with my kids.

GoldSpot · 19/07/2017 21:50

I just watched Captain Fantastic and loved it.

mymycherrypie · 19/07/2017 21:51

Baby Driver and Get Out

LonginesPrime · 21/07/2017 20:15

Another vote for Ghostbusters!

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 23/07/2017 22:40

Lion best film I have seen in years

And Moonlight

both very moving films that really got to you felt drained after watching both of them

Hunt for the Wilderpeople was really enjoyable

I found La La Land overrated and too long and certainly overhyped

MargoChanning · 23/07/2017 22:47

Zootropolis. I can quite happily watch it without my DC! Grin

MusicToMyEars800 · 07/08/2017 16:54

Margo, I watched Sing without my dc's Grin

scrabble1 · 10/08/2017 17:07

Star Wars 😍

SpornStar · 10/08/2017 17:11

Gifted seems to have gone under the radar but it's my movie of 2017 so far.

BeyondThePage · 10/08/2017 17:13

Passenger
