Love and Friendship, adored it. I really enjoyed The Jungle Book and Deadpool (I am not highbrow apparently)

Wishiwasmoiradingle2017 · 27/03/2017 11:41

Jurassic world!!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 29/03/2017 20:02

Lion. No contest.

gabsdot · 29/03/2017 23:07

Lion for me too, certainly the film that affected me the most.
I also loved Arrival and Trolls (yes really)

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/03/2017 23:12

Jungle Book was great. I loved Trainspotting 2.

MusicToMyEars800 · 29/03/2017 23:15

T2 I really liked Deadpool too ( not entirely sure if that's 2016 though )
I liked suicide squad and as for animated: Moana, Trolls and inside out.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 29/03/2017 23:18

I haven't seen Lion. Will get to it. Most films are rubbish these days. Sad There are too many churned out just to make money.

Sgtmajormummy · 29/03/2017 23:31

On DVD I enjoyed Kingsmen (and I'm definitely not a Colin Firth or a Michael Caine fan) as entertainment. I'd be happy to see more of them. James Bond meets Kill Bill.
The Eye in the Sky with Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman (his last film?) was memorable for different reasons.

The only time I went to the cinema in 2016 was to see Fantastic Beasts with DD...

MusicToMyEars800 · 29/03/2017 23:37

oh forgot to add james bond spectre and Jason bourne.
Sgtmajormummy there Is going to be a sequel to kingsman, I really enjoyed that one too.

MadisonAvenue · 29/03/2017 23:39

FixItUpChappie · 03/04/2017 05:03

well, it's not Shakespeare but I loved the Star Wars Rouge One movie, really really enjoyed it. I could almost smell my childhood Smile

hellokittymania · 03/04/2017 05:33

I'm saving lion and beauty and the beast for a long haul playing journey. My favorites for 2016 or Sully and Queen of Katwe

abbielove · 03/04/2017 11:24

Just watched Mums list which had me in tears from the start!

I am useless at choosing one film!2017 so far: Lion, Get Out or Trainspotting 2.
2016: Sing Street, Green Room, The Nice Guys, Eye in the Sky, Anthropoid, Hell or High Water, Arrival.

IAmAmy · 08/04/2017 02:26

Trainspotting 2. Nothing could possibly come close. As if it was ever in doubt, Wolf Alice - Silk as the penultimate song sealed it.

I went to see Beauty and the Beast last week and enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. Gaston made the whole thing worthwhile.

avamiah · 08/04/2017 02:36

I really liked Girl on a train.

avamiah · 08/04/2017 03:02

littlejeopardy,
Yes I went to see the special screening at Leicester Square with the orchestra and singers on the opening weekend with my daughter and my friend and her daughter and it was amazing .
Yes I agree Gaston was a brilliant baddie but a very good looking one.😉

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 08/04/2017 03:05

My favourite films were probably Lion and A Monster Calls. We don't go to the cinema very often though, we probably only saw about 6 or 7 films in the last 12 months. One of which was La La Land - very disappointing.

I really wanted to see Silence but missed it. My son went and said it was brilliant.
