I have to say, I wish I'd never watched The Shining (at a sleepover when I was 14). It scared the pants off me!

Anyone else?

Antichrist, not because it was scary but because I just didn't get it. At all.

whataboutbob · 10/09/2016 20:43

Breaking The Waves. Misleading poster "love conquers all" or something to that effect. It was violent, misogynistic twaddle.

2kids2dogsnosense · 10/09/2016 20:43

Read the Wiki entry on The Serbian Film.

Hell's teeth! Who even thinks these things up? That is indescribably vile.

Lickedthespoon · 10/09/2016 20:45

The hills have eyes
The hills have eyes 2

Shock
Teddy1970 · 10/09/2016 20:48

The Mothman Prophecies, quite hard to understand, based on a true story apparently but gave me the heebie jeebies, I can't watch it alone...

AVY1 · 10/09/2016 20:50

Dead Heads. I usually love zombie films but this was just so terrible that it even surpassed the so bad it's good. It is just bad.

ItShouldHaveBeenJessmas · 10/09/2016 20:50

The absolute antithesis of horror films, but The Railway Children. I first watched it a month after my died died. That scene on the platform knocked me out.

Winemamma · 10/09/2016 20:51

Stephen Kings IT. Watched it as a child at a sleepover at prob about 11 and was scared to death! Have hated horror films since - although I can a cheesy one like the scream films.
Love a good thriller but horrors no!

helpimitchy · 10/09/2016 20:54

Grotesque was pretty bad.
A Serbian Film was just stupid rubbish.
The Human Centipede was hilarious.

RebelRogue · 10/09/2016 20:54

Knock knock with Keanu Reeves. So shit and bad. Frozen(the so called "horror" not the Disney one)... even worse.

Glitterspy · 10/09/2016 20:55

The exorcism of Emily Rose. Wolf Creek. I wish I wasn't watching Stranger Things right now!

CosyCoupe88 · 10/09/2016 20:56

The hills have eyes 2. Only saw the start scene.. never got that out of my head. Also the whistle blower. :( so horrific. I used to be ok at watching horror and hostage type films. Since I have had my little one I can't watch anything like that. Can jut about do paranormal but I think I would hve a panic attack if I tried to watch something luke saw again. So awful and I just don't understand how I could very have managed to watch it. Anyone else had this?

MrsSpenserGregson · 10/09/2016 20:58

The Matrix. What a crock of shite.

Reservoir Dogs. I can never unsee the Ear scene.

Mamma Mia. Gahhhhhhhhhhh I have no words.

Copland. First time I fell asleep mid-film at the cinema.

AGreatBigWorld · 10/09/2016 20:58

Evil Dead 2, Remake of Pink Panther, Remake of True Grit, I walked out of all of them.
There's Something About Mary (WTF???)
Hector and the Pursuit of Happyness was lent to us by a friend and I really couldnt understand why everyone was raving about it!

AbelMancwitch · 10/09/2016 20:59

I love The Shining! Grin

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is mine. I had literally no idea what it was about and I was so surprised and devastated by it, I sobbed for days Sad

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 10/09/2016 20:59

Cherry Tree Lane, a home invasion film. It wasn't a particularly good film, and really disturbing. I wish I could unwatch it.

spanky2 · 10/09/2016 21:01

The Grudge. Just so scary. Bed is my safe place. When the girl grabs the woman while she's in bed still scares me witless.
IT. Can't bear clowns now. I was youngish when I watched it.
The remake of Poltergeist. I'll never get that time back. So disappointing. Who'd put the nervous child in the attic? It relied too much on having seen the first film.
I'm watching the conjuring 2 at the moment. Shock

WillyW8nker · 10/09/2016 21:03

Irreversible (ironically).

jasmine1971 · 10/09/2016 21:04

When A Man Loves a Woman, with Meg Ryan and Andy Garcia. My friends had to come into the toilets in the cinemas to check if I was alright. I'd been in there sobbing for about 30 minutes. The performance of the little girl is STUNNING.

oohay282820 · 10/09/2016 21:04

My OH's mum was dying from cancer and we'd had a difficult day at the hospice so I took him to see 'Up' to cheer him up. I felt an uncomfortable sense of impending doom during the montage of the couple growing old together at the beginning and when she died, my OH completely broke down in the cinema. I felt terrible, I had no idea it started that way :-(

'Irreversible' is the only film I had to stop watching because I found the subway scene so distressing. It still bothers me now and it's been ten years since I saw it I think.

'Teeth' is pretty grim too.

IamViolet · 10/09/2016 21:06

The piano

Fink · 10/09/2016 21:08

Orphan and The Hole. I've seen both of them more than once (because they've been on TV multiple times and don't look that disturbing until it gets to a really nasty bit and then I think, 'Oh shit, I've seen this before and it was horrible.' They still scare the crap out of me now years later, I have flashbacks to a couple of the scenes. I can't even remember what happens in The Hole except that it was really grim.

rockingthelook · 10/09/2016 21:13

Magnolia- still haven't a clue, and so bloody long!
Angels and Demons- shite
Hostel- just horrific, can't forget it :(

WillyW8nker · 10/09/2016 21:15

The White Ribbon was incredibly depressing and one film I would never want to watch again.

TopazBurns · 10/09/2016 21:16

Bambi -nooo when he cries out for his mother. I can never ever watch it again. Sad
