I love these films but know them so well now. I'd like to find something with a similar feel - I like the Zorro films but I think I want slightly more of a fairytale.

Any suggestions please?

Nobody? Inconceivable!

I know there are some Princess Bride fans on here...

Ha gives five minutes, I know some but brains gone blank.

Introduced DS to princess bride recently, they were unimpressed at my suggestion to begin with, found it funny Grin

Not seen the princess bride but like stardust. Tried golden compass but had to switch it off half way through.

*Then found it funny

Lady hawk, love that one

Patterkiller · 27/05/2016 11:10

Inkheart
The Narnia franchise
Pan

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 27/05/2016 11:15

Ahh, ink heart! I was just about to describe that one as I couldn't remember the name.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 27/05/2016 11:17

Maleficent?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/05/2016 11:20

Is Inkheart where a man brings book characters to life by reading them? I loved the books, I never knew there was a film!

I'll have a look at all of these - there's something a bit fairytale-like and silly about the others that just hits the spot!

Ever after

Patterkiller · 27/05/2016 11:24

The sorcerers apprentice is along those viens too.

Hastalapasta · 27/05/2016 11:25

May have to change my user name to Inigo Montoya! Came on to suggest Ink heart, the Narnia films, the Terry Pratchett films, Hogfather is particularly good, and Enchanted. Good luck.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/05/2016 11:25

Thank you for all the suggestions, there are a lot I haven't seen.

In a similar vein (but musical) I also like The Slipper and the Rose, and Disney's Enchanted.

Agree with Inkheart, thinking of Paul Bettany have you seen A Knight's Tale?

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 27/05/2016 11:38

Ooo hog father YY

WhirlwindHugs · 27/05/2016 11:40

Bit sideways - Mr Magorium's wonder emporium?

puddleduckmummy · 27/05/2016 11:40

Oh I love Stardust, it's my favourite film! Inkheart is good too. I'm going to scout my DVD collection to see if I can see any suggestions!

WhirlwindHugs · 27/05/2016 11:41

Howl's Moving Castle

Enb76 · 27/05/2016 11:42

'Willow' is pretty good too.

Enb76 · 27/05/2016 11:47

And oddly, what about 'O Brother, where art though?'

GrouchyKiwi · 27/05/2016 13:17

Ella Enchanted is quite fun, if a bit tweeny.

YY to Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium. I loved it.

Howl's Moving Castle?

GrouchyKiwi · 27/05/2016 13:18

Oh, and without the magical element, I think Juno and Moonrise Kingdom have a similar feel to those films.

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 27/05/2016 13:20

Big fish, has a nice feel about it too
