Mine is the E.T flying scene. Makes me cry with happiness every time. Other favourites are the scene in Hook where the little lost boy believes in Peter and another when he gives the other lost boy the sword. What are yours?

Some Harry Potter moments:

Goblet of Fire: the "sweetheart, you're ready, let go..." from his mum.

In Order of the Phoenix, there's a scene early on which is not in the book, but which I really like: when Luna (barefoot) explains to Harry about Thestrals, her own mum, and that she believes his story. The actress playing Luna has her character spot on.

Some of the moments in Deathly Hallows when Harry and Hermione are alone together.

Watched Bridget Jones again last nightand just lapped it up. There's something fascinating about her on screen.

Yes to the last scene and the fight scene. Also love the fight scene in the second one.

I need to watch the shawshank redemption again. I know I enjoyed it but ye gods....I can hardly remember it.

Also loved the children in the Billy Connolly film,...what we did on our holidays. Wont spoil it if you haven't seen it as what they did with illy Connolly was amazing.

Maximus opening the door in the wall to Elysium, and seeing his son running down the hill to meet him.

The Imperial cruiser coming into shot in Star Wars and filling the screen.

Dumbledore and Harry in King's Cross between life and death.

Eliot crying over E.T. Knocks Sally Thomsett in a cocked hat.

Shawn and Ed playing videogames in the shed, as "You're My Best Friend" comes on the soundtrack.

The moment in Home when the Mum is searching for her daughter (the main character) and says "she has beautiful brown skin".
Thinking through the decades, from Michael Jackson not being allowed on MTV through the white only Disneys, the days of black people only shown as 'natives'. As I sat next to my mixed race children at the cinema at a film not only with a black female lead, but which actually self consciously expressed this out loud, it brought a tear to my eye.

Precious Bane, when the weaver carries off Precious on his horse.

Color Purple, when Celie is reunited with her children (book much better though, thought film didn't do it justice).

Loads of mine have already been mentioned including Some Kind of Wonderful and Stand By Me.

A couple of others for me would be pretty much all of Field of Dreams but especially when Kevin C is driving away after taking JEJ to the baseball match and JEJ is stood in the middle of the road in the headlights and recites the words that had been on the notice board.

One that always made me sob was The Outsiders, "Stay golden Pony boy" Sad

The beginning of up. I sob at it.
agree with a previous poster about the "you let me down too" scene
love actually where she is visiting her brother and he tries to hit her. So sad.

The end of Sleeping Beauty when her parents see Aurora walking down the staircase. Even though it's an old-school cartoon drawing, the look on her mum's face is perfect.

LOTR when the Riders of Rogan appear over the crest of the rise, backed by the sun. Same film: the bit when the beacons are lit gives me the shivers. The score on all three films is superb.

My favourite film is "The sound of music" Recently DD and I watched it together for the first time. I love the bit right at the start where Maria starts to sing on the mountain and the Doh a deer song with Maria and the children running around all over Saltzberg, and the wedding where the nuns sing "How do you solve a problem like Maria" and the every end where they are walking over the mountain with "Climb every mountain" being sung in the background.
Oh I just adore that film
