Mine is the E.T flying scene. Makes me cry with happiness every time. Other favourites are the scene in Hook where the little lost boy believes in Peter and another when he gives the other lost boy the sword. What are yours?

When John Lynch (as Paul Hill) pushes past the guards and says "I'm going out the front door...with Gerry" (Conlon, another fantastic Daniel Day Lewis performance)- in In the Name of the Father

SenecaFalls · 25/08/2015 19:32

The end of Bull Durham, when Crash comes back to Annie.

Minion · 25/08/2015 19:51

The last unicorn when the red bull is being pushed back into the sea and all the unicorns on the crests of the waves are shown!

Moulin rouge when they are singing come what may.

vestandknickers · 25/08/2015 20:04

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. All of it.

SusanHollander · 25/08/2015 20:06

The Notebook scene when they get out of the boat and she asks him why he didn't write to her....intensely romantic!

First Knight when Richard Gere kisses Guinevere after a long and built up romance blossoming. Sigh.

I love Christmas movies and Miracle on 34th street and Scrooge - the black & white with Alistair Simms - are real heart warmers.

And I couldn't not mention 'It's a wonderful life'....that entire film is magical! When Clarence pulls him out of the lake, when they all dance and the swimming pool opens, when he is on his knees saying 'I wanna live again! Please God let me live again!' Honestly it's pure gold.

[Wanders off humming 'buffalo girl wontcha come out tonight...]

When Rupert Everett sings "The moment I wake up" in My Best Friend's Wedding.

Mrsjayy · 25/08/2015 20:13

The end of Bicentenial man makes me do a weird sob thing.

TrionicLettuce · 25/08/2015 20:15

The escape from the canyon in Mad Max: Fury Road, gives me shivers every time. The whole film is amazing but there's just something about that sequence.

The end of Pan's Labyrinth, beautiful.

The original three (un-remastered) Star Ward films, pretty much in their entirety. I love them so much it's a bit ridiculous.

The first time you see the unicorns in Legend Blush

The end of The Fog (1980 version) where just as everything seems to be ok the fog starts seeping back under the church door.

HermioneWeasley · 25/08/2015 20:16

End of "dances with Wolves" when Wind in His Hair calls out to Dances and Stands with a Fist and says "I will always be your friend".

Jackiebrambles · 25/08/2015 20:18

When Red and Andy meet on the beach in Shawshank 'I hope, I hope'.

When Clarence gets his wings in Its a wonderful life. 'Atta boy Clarence'.

MrsWembley · 25/08/2015 20:27

"Daddy: my Daddy!"

Even typing it is making me well-up...Blush

MrsWembley · 25/08/2015 20:29

And the bit in The Croods when the father throws them all over the ravine...

shakeatailfeather · 25/08/2015 20:32

The "Make Em Laugh" and "Good Morning" sequences in Singin In The Rain

Lots of bits from "The Pajama Game"

Keith and Watts' practice kiss in "Some Kind of Wonderful"

The scene at the prom in "Pretty In Pink

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 25/08/2015 20:37

The bit in Brassed Off where the band play outside the hospital where their conductor is seriously ill. They play Danny Boy as a tribute to him, then switch off their miners lamps in respect. Then a nurse comes out with a message from him - the tenor horn is too soft. They think he's unconscious, not able to comment on the music. Brings a tear to my eye each time.

And Daddy, my Daddy, like everyone else. Is that the most tear-jerking moment in the history of film-making?

BossWitch · 25/08/2015 20:39

Reading 'Daddy, my daddy!' had made me well up, typing it just pushed me over into full on misty eyes Blush

Adding the end of the trial scene in To Kill A Mockingbird, where all of the black characters watching from the coloured gallery stand up in silence as Atticus walks out. "Stand up, Miss Jean Louise. Your father's passing" breaks me every single time.

MrsWembley · 25/08/2015 20:39

Frankie And Johnny, when they kiss in front of the lorry and it opens to a blaze of colour...

SusanHollander · 25/08/2015 20:47

Oh and The Fisher King with Robin William lying in the park singing...I like New York in June, how about yooooou.....

comfybigduvet · 25/08/2015 20:52

When Melanie runs to Ashley in Gone With The Wind.

Pneumometer · 25/08/2015 21:04

That crane shot in Once Upon a Time in the West:

MrsHenryCrawford · 25/08/2015 21:19

When buzz rescues woody in toy story and woody says 'you're flying buzz' and buzz replies I'm not flying, just falling with style!

Also love the scene in Mary poppins when they jump through the painting

In before sunset, when he's signing books in a book shop and he looks over and sees the woman he has dreamed about for years

WaggleBee · 25/08/2015 21:29

I cry at everything but got nothing at "Daddy, my Daddy.". Not a quiver, not the tiniest of throat lumps, nothing, nada, zilch.

It annoys me. I cry at adverts ffs.

dementedma · 25/08/2015 21:36

I don't even know what "daddy, my daddy " is!!!!Grin

Kitsandkids · 25/08/2015 21:39

'Daddy! My Daddy!' used to make my dad cry and I would laugh at him in an 'Oh Dad' kind of a way. He died a few years ago and I now weep copiously at that scene!
