I love this from Adventureland

I discovered Sia from the finale to Six Feet Under, bought a couple of albums and saw her tour in a small venue before she hit on the faceless gimmick.

I also got onto John Cooper Clarke after his song Chickentown was played during the credits of a Sopranos episode. He'd obviously been going for years, but I'm glad I found him.

Withershins · 02/08/2015 07:32

I eat Dinner - Rufus wainwright feat Dido, for Bridget Jones Edge of Reason.

Simple and haunting.

Bunbaker · 02/08/2015 07:37

I loved the entire soundtrack from The Commitments.

KatyN · 02/08/2015 08:43

Damien rice .. But ahhh I can't remember the film. Two couples, one has an affair, all very messed up. But beautiful music!

MizK · 02/08/2015 08:50

Lots on ritakiaoras list, will be checking out some of your others which I haven't heard!

Agree with Tarantino soundtracks, especially Django, Who Did That To You by John Legend being one of my faves.

Mrsfrumble · 02/08/2015 13:14

KatyN that film was Closer. It was pretty grim to watch but the Damien Rice song is gorgeous.

SmartAlecMetalGit · 02/08/2015 13:32

I was also coming on to say , it's one of my most favourite songs ever Blush

Hated the film but loved the in Hostel.

Also love the song from the end of The Fifth Element,

SmartAlecMetalGit · 02/08/2015 13:36

The whole soundtrack of Manhunter is great but particularly This Big Hush and Coelacanth by Shriekback and the awesome cheesiness of Strong As I Am by The Prime Movers.

SmartAlecMetalGit · 02/08/2015 13:44

From TV shows:

(Scrubs) (CSI:LV) (Bones)
tarashill · 02/08/2015 14:46
Not so much a song, but this soundtrack from "Once upon a time in the West". Hauntingly beautiful.
squoosh · 02/08/2015 14:47

Can't beat a bit of Ennio Morricone.

PuntasticUsername · 02/08/2015 14:59

Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me from To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar. Fabulous song, fabulous film.

#"And then you take me in your arms and drive me sloooooowly outta my mind...[key change] KISS ME!"

JAPAB · 02/08/2015 15:41

"Can't beat a bit of Ennio Morricone."
Indeed, the Dollars trilogy and Chi Mai are others of his.

Tubular Bells thanks to the Exorcist.
Never Ending Story - Limahl
Ween - The Rainbow (South Park)

stevienickstophat · 02/08/2015 15:41

The whole soundtrack to Rudderless.

Just great songs and a great film.

Tweezertastic · 02/08/2015 16:21

From the twilight eclipse soundtrack - bat for lashes and beck singing lets get lost. It's gorgeous and haunting

Whatever it is which is playing while the guy gets beaten to death after the 'You're a funny guy' exchange in Goodfellas. Perfect juxtaposition of music and violence (IYSWIM)

CrimsonSunrise · 02/08/2015 16:31

SmartAlec - me too, I walked into my wedding to it as its a personal fave and a lovely song. Legend is also my fave film and I think the music by tangerine dream makes it that bit more magical Blush

SmartAlecMetalGit · 02/08/2015 18:01

Crimson Hurrah!! Someone else who actually likes Legend. I love it, absolutely adore it and I don't think I've ever found anyone else who likes it (or will admit to liking it). I love the Tangerine Dream score as well, never liked the Jerry Goldsmith version.

Tangerine Dream also did the score to a cult film called The Keep which is again absolutely amazing.

FoolishFay · 02/08/2015 19:08

Grand Budapest Hotel - The opening song, the Appenzell yodel "s'Rothe-Zäuerli" by Ruedi and Werner Roth, is from the Swiss folk group's Öse Schuppel's album Appenzeller Zäuerli.

DarkBlueEyes · 02/08/2015 19:16

walking after you by the Foo ?fighters from the X Files movie. Still one of my favourite songs.

VulcanWoman · 02/08/2015 19:17

Frou Frou -let go, from film Garden State.

Casperthefriendlyspook · 02/08/2015 19:23

Lovefool by the Cardigans - Romeo + Juliet
I also discovered Overkill by Men at Work from Scrubs. Smile

ThatsNotAKnifeThatsASpoon · 02/08/2015 19:30

SmartAlec and CrimsonSunrise you are not alone! Have adored Loved by the Sun since I was a kid in the 80s. Legend is such a fantastic film, a bit dark for my 5 year old possibly yet though!

Hate the Jerry Goldsmith score which always seems to be the version shown on tv. A few years ago I managed to find a Dvd copy with the Tangerine Dream score, it was quite difficult actually!

JAPAB · 02/08/2015 19:49

"Lovefool by the Cardigans" I like that one as well. A song along sort of similar themes is "Just Be Good To Me" which was in 10 things I hate about you. Although I think I prefer other covers of it than the one in the film.

BettyRooster · 02/08/2015 19:57

"Jolie Louise" by Daniel Lanois from the Northern Exposure soundtrack.

Give it a listen! It's great.
