Anybody know any good musicals?
We found The Sound Of Music a bit slow but we LOVE Singin in the rain!
Mary Poppins, Chitty chitty no good. Too dated for us!

Yes, the boys have had Thunderbirds - both the old episodes and the newer movies. We had a lot of that stuff on video whcih is long gone and also a lot of the earlier dvds they had we have given away too.

What about A Bugs Life or Boo, Zino and the Snurks - don't think those are Disney/Pixar

SingleMama · 12/04/2013 11:48

Those are very similar to Disney pix.
Just remembered I also love the Lotte Reiniger & Michel Ocelot films

They're probably not old enough yet for Grease & Dirty Dancing ;-)

DC love the phineas and ferb cartoons if you can see them, and dh and I love like them too Grin

They usually have a nice song in and are good in so far as there's no shoot em ups or violence or double level jokes that you get in most things. The two main characters are uber geniuses but still nice sweet boys who make something mad each episode so on another front it is good to see geeks as positive role models Grin

I know it's disney but it's not like most disney stuff! I didn't like it immediately (mostly because I was in and out and kind of assuming that it was going to be another horrible thing like ben 10 or pokemon etc) but it soon grew on me.

(This is from P&F to give you an idea!)

Summer Holiday!
may sound odd but my son loves it to bits he knows all the songs and most of the script off by heart there's no scary parts and its very bright and summery with some slapstick and silliness that keeps the little ones entertained right the way through

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 06/05/2013 09:36

Bugsy Malone might be worth a look.

vixyytrixie · 06/05/2013 09:38

also just got bugsy malone to try my son hasn't watched it yet been racking my brain for musicals he would like, he also likes little shop of horrors but that may be scary for some little ones, he loves oliver twist too and elmo in grouchland, elmo and summer holiday are his absolute faves he would watch them on repeat all day every day if i let him!

Ooh I love Annie!

Mind, I also love Pixar and Dreamworks.

What about March of the Penguins (real life docu-movie)? Sound of Music? Mary Poppins?
