Why the f do none of the band T-shirts I want come in a female version

Ive paid for tickets to see these arseholes [multiple groups of them] and not one single band t shirt comes in anything other than a male shape. Which is not comfortable or flattering. Twats.

The difference is that women's t-shirts tend to stretch, whereas men's don't.
So, no amount of altering a man's t-shirt is going to make it stretch over my 34g's.

I spoke to the drummer of our favourite band a couple of weeks ago about the new T-shirts coming out. Only unisex ones for the tour. They do women’s fit on pre-orders only so they know how many to have made. I’ve bought a small for Ds and I. It’s rather baggy and a little too long on me but Ds will grow into his when he hits his teenage years. Sometimes I like having a baggy tshirt instead of a fitted one. I have one that although a small has boob space for Dolly Parton and I’ll never be able to wear it. It was a special edition one that came with their first album. I’m going to frame it along with other memorabilia.

Women’s clothing is just a nightmare in general. Dd is 17 and can’t get anything with a fixed waistband to fit. Straps on tops and dresses are too long. The tops of dresses are too long as are the skirts. She says shein are the only ones where things fit and she’ll get them off vinted as I refuse to shop at shein. It must be nice to be a man and not have these issues. Although Ds struggles with trousers/jeans. Tiny waist but then the crotch to waist depth is too small. Being able to make your own clothes must be amazing.

Marillion now ALWAYS do women-fit T-shirts as standard. Sometimes they’re in a different colours, because we were asked what colours we like and the manager listens! For the convention weekend shirts, M and F are identical except in styling. F ones are shaped and usually have a v neck or sometimes a scoop neck. And they provide measurements of all their shirt sizes on the website. None of them are ever cropped or ‘sexy’. And they often sell out of women’s larger sizes. I own about 20, dating back to 2010, so it can’t be that hard for bands to do….should they want to!!

... oh and same applies to (running) race organisers' finisher tees. Some do provide women's fit, many don't bother.

complained to pulp (merchandise person) about the lack of female fit t shirts, she said write to management so I did - they claim a. T shirts are unisex and b. The previous tour they had female fit t shirts and they didn’t sell well. They did send me a female fit t shirt for my troubles but wasn’t the actual tour one

Ps I’m picking up t shirts later of which mine is women’s fit for a local band that print to order from a local shop - 15 colour ways, 8 sizes in 2 fits and no waste

I revert to my millennial self by twisting and tucking it in at the back with a hair bobble.

One trick is to put the t-shirt on inside out, pinch the excess fabric and pin it along the sides to get the right fit (a second pair of hands is very helpful here!). If you need to take it in a lot, you can use the same approach to add a dart or two at the back.

Take it off carefully and check you've done it evenly and the lines converge smoothly - it's generally best to replace the whole side seam rather than trying to achieve a smooth join.Then sew along the lines (tack first if not feeling confident!).

Once you've checked the fit, remove the excess fabric and oversew the edges. Practice on an old t-shirt first of needed.

Just here to say I totally agree- I love band t-shirts but hate the square men’s shape, and I just wish they made women’s shaped ones

EMP have a huge range of fitted women's band Ts and singlets. They are all licenced, not knock offs. I only see small bands live and they generally only have unisex Ts on the merch stall which is understandable I think. Even very female-oriented bands like The Last Dinner Party only offer unisex Ts. A stadium-filling band should be able to offer more choice I would assume. I don’t really give it much thought and I’m happy to wear unisex or men’s Ts but then I’m ‘blessed’ with the physique of a 13 year old boy.

This really annoys me as the smallest men’s t shirt absolutely swamps me.

I was 🙄 when my pre-ordered FiLiA t-shirt was a men’s fit. Wtf.

I hate this. I have no band T shirts - indeed, no event t shirts at all. 5’3” and a pear shape so the “unisex” (ie “men’s”) are really baggy on the top half and then I have all of this material bunched up like a shelf around the top of my hips or (as one work event organiser one told me to do) I pull them down over my hips & bum which is somehow even more unflattering and they just ride up all day. It is so annoying.

I haven't bought a band shirt in years because they are always bloody crew necks. Not a good look on the big of book. Give me a v-neck or a scoop please.

Yes! They are so unflattering for the large of nork. My favourite band (small band, mostly unknown, but great merch) do women's fit t shirts.

Slightly related, but my running club has just changed t shirt supplier.
They have male and women's fit t shirts.
Lots of women have complained about the new fit - they flare at the bottom, so great for those with a pear shape (and some are happy with it), but a lot of runners are slim around the stomach so plenty of complaints about them being baggy.
Just goes to show we are all shapes and can't please everyone.
I'm flat chested so no problem with a tight top half.

I tend to buy the biggest mens t shirt I can 3xl/4xl and then use the fabric to make my own ladies fit shirt. Depending on the source material you can sometimes only get front and back panels out of it, and then add contrast sleeves.
