Interesting....

The writer of this piece links it to the toxic "traditional" values of the manosphere.

article

I am curious and this does make sense to me. Wondered if others suspect the same.

Perhaps they are religious and believe in God.

Maitri108 · 21/04/2025 22:28

Perhaps they're looking for a sense of belonging and some community.

Summerhillsquare · 21/04/2025 22:29

I thought the figures quoted seemed huge. Then again a lot of it will be accounted for by more recent migrants eg most African arrivals are strongly Christian.

Screamingabdabz · 21/04/2025 22:39

I agree op. I have direct experience of this and the increased Christian engagement was directly influenced by Andrew Tate. The idea of being ‘clean’ and meditative and self-disciplined chimed with his desire to achieve the ‘high status male’ goal. Practising Christianity was a way of doing this and it’s interesting that the increase is being seen in Catholic and high church iterations where women are sidelined and not permitted to lead.

Didn't Tate convert to Islam?

Hollyhedge · 21/04/2025 22:50

That is concerning. But the article seems to suggest it as one of several possibilities

How doTate followers rationalise being Christian with their guru pimping and abusing multiple women in his hareem?

Rehab4rightmove · 21/04/2025 23:05

I know a couple of young men who have turned to Christianity recently.
Nothing sinister in it. They turned to it when they were going through a tough time, and were longing direction. They have found comfort in the routine I think.

Some years ago , I heard a rabbi on the radio say that the.only.religions not in decline today were the ones that granted men power over women.

User46576 · 22/04/2025 00:44

I think a bit more religion would benefit us all.

The only one I can think of that doesn't is Wicca.

Presumably this includes mosques, evangelical churches etc. I find it somewhat hard to believe young men are turning up at St Oswald’s C of E etc.

From the article: The data also shows that generation Z are particularly drawn to Roman Catholicism, which accounts for a significant rise in the number of Catholics in England, almost closing the overall gap between those who identify as Catholic and those who identify as Anglican.

The Old Testament justifies horrendous abuses of women in the name of God.

Bluntly, no. Religion has caused so many wars and continues to cause them.

The New Testament takes away those rules along with the rest of the law....and then brings much of it back in a lesser form with men like Paul. "I do not allow..." etc
I am not a religious scholar but my understanding is that this is always the way when the originator goes and men take over. The usual suspects rising to status and bringing back what the originator squashed. The party's over, as you were.

Without meaning to be flippant, so have food, land, and all manner of lesser things.
Religion can be used as an excuse for what someone wants to do. It is also a great support and help to others.
Didn't George W Bush go to war because someone dissed his dad? Or am I remembering that wrong.

I guess it all depends on the motivation. Some may be genuinely seeking something spiritual or perhaps community and meaning in their lives and if so good luck to them.

I'm also aware however of a certain belief online in certain circles that church is where you need to go to meet a god fearing, traditional woman who is a virgin. These men regard modern women in general to be out their playing the field, riding the "cock carousel" and getting "ran through" by numerous "chads" who will sleep with them but never marry them. As a result these all women become alpha widows with uppity ideas of the kind of man they can get before finally settling for security on the verge of cronehood (about 30ish) with a "beta bucks" (a male they don't love and are not attracted to) they can dupe into raising chads child before they "divorce rape" him in the courts and take half his stuff.

Apparently they believe that by going to church and trying to pick up a young virgin girl there that you will be spared the future outlined above. As for the future of any young women who sadly end up with these men, they don't really care, women are like a domestic appliance to these men, how they feel doesn't matter.

I would hope that mothers and fathers with daughters who do attend church would be wise to and on the look out for these predatory men.

They sound like utter twats. Hardly surprising they can't get anywhere near a woman.

It's the push towards Christianity from the right. I've noticed the Daily Fail has more than one story everyday about near death experiences and the afterlife or how the Turin shroud is real. They're worried about low white populations and the further need for immigration.
Hence the push against a women's right to choose etc. They don't want to loose their white man power.

"White man power"--shall we talk about grooming gangs?

Who can find a consistently virtuous male group? For their price is far above rubies.

A lot of young men are online going down various rabbit holes of research. I think some of the things they encounter convince them that the spiritual realm is real and they would like to become Christians.
On top of that, the recent stories about women earning money on only fans or sleeping with a hundred men in a day make them want to find a partner with Christian values.
