Android, is 'new legs' a step too far ... ?
I insist on them being Strong New Legs, anyway.

See, this is why I didn't bother.😂

AI did not understand the brief!!

Don't have nightmares x

Gonna need a lot more crocs now, Boily!

(The AI is still hungover from NYE. This is not exactly what I asked for but it's the best of a bad bunch.)

I've had trouble with AI and legs before. It's quite good at doing nightmare creatures, but not the modest or humorous ones that you want.
AI can't, or won't, count.

The slightly sinister whimsical element of the above conversation reminded me of the old song, for some reason.

Can I have a knitted onesie please?

However fitted that moose for that onsie deserves a medal.

DeanElderberry · 03/01/2025 08:43

There might be a long concealed zip from the right shoulder area (including the collar) and along the top of the blobby bits (sorry to use complicated technical knitting words) that would make putting on and off possible IF there's a gerbil always available for zip-pulling duty. Being low-minded I still wonder about the challenges around the rearward parts. Sorry Moose for being impolite, but you have such a fine shapely arse I wouldn't like to see its functionality impeded by misplaced textiles.

DeanElderberry · 03/01/2025 08:47

Which is true for everyone, and WHAT is that rising up from the crotch of the blue onesie in the first pic? She looks such a nice girl, too.

It's a waist drawstring hanging down. And there were we thinking you were a nice girl.Grin

DeanElderberry · 03/01/2025 08:54

I may (or may not) be nice, but my trained archaeological eye can see perfectly well that it is not a waist string nor is it hanging down. It might be a folded up hat (or snood) sticking out of a pocket.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/01/2025 08:56

Obviously a suit for a real moose would need to be cut similarly to those made for dogs, but I don't think we need to worry too much in an alternative reality where a presumably female moose has a fine set of antlers.

Magpiecomplex · 03/01/2025 09:47

Mmm, nice and cosy. Can't move though. Can I borrow some of your extra legs please someone?

The ad that randomly but hilariously appeared immediately under Deano's er... interesting question gave the answer that it is a :
'Night Light Bluetooth Speaker, White Noise Machine, Touch Bedside Lamp with Alarm Clock for Kids, Multi-Color Bedroom Table Lamp Xmas Gifts for her Gifts for Teenage Girls Boys Teens Women Boyfriend'

Every onesie should have one😄

lcakethereforeIam · 03/01/2025 11:19

Went to see a Ray Harryhausen exhibition yesterday. It was small but free and fascinating. I left wishing it had been bigger and that he, or the animation genre he was a bit part of, really warrants a big exhibition at the British Museum. They had one there relatively recently about Manga.

Returning to the car, we had an exciting few moments when it had been 'stolen'! Fortunately, the thief had considerately parked it in the same space but a level down.

Anyway, back to Harryhausen. Do you think the AI has been to the same exhibition? Some of its recent drawings look awfully familiar 🤔

Magpiecomplex · 03/01/2025 11:29

What a considerate thief, Cake!

Have you seen the Tim Burton exhibition? We're hoping to go soon, just trying to fit it around the children's social calendars.

I don't think I can blame autocorrupt for this. This one is all on meBlush

Obviously

the animation genre he was a bit part of

should have read

the animation genre he was a big part of

Arrgghhh!

If any member of his family should read this, please accept my apologies. Ask the bar gerbil for any drink you want, on me.

And just to rub salt in the wound, everytime I type 'this' autocorrupt helpfully offers to complete it with 'this-is-jaguars-bud-light-moment'. Wtf!?

Have we become blasé[es] about the wild and wonderful language of AI?

The Women's Casual Strong Pub and a turbo lonks, special library
[hey, that sounds like my kinda placeGrin]
The Women's Caistocaal Lebking [is there an S missing from that??]and we our tuubbo libanks.

Almost as much fun as a moose-onesieSmile

Some parts of AI seem to have learnt how to spell properly, which is a bit disappointing, something's gained and something's lost, eh?

I remember somebody - wave if it was you - coming up with a most impressively knowledgeable explanation as to why AI can't spell - the only bits I remember are 'images' and 'text', but I was well impressed at the time!

OP posts:
Magpiecomplex · 03/01/2025 12:39

It wasn't me @MarieDeGournay but I remember it was basically because AI doesn't actually spell, it's creating a picture of a word. So it focuses on lots of little bits of the picture and if they look right, it's good enough. I think. Summat like that, anyway!

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 03/01/2025 12:43

AIs which are producing text, not images, presumably should replicate the spellings in their training data. That doesn't imply they 'understand' any of it!

ErrolTheDragon · 03/01/2025 12:49

Another thing I heard recently is that some phones (Samsung I think) have been overdoing the use of AI in their photo image processing.
Someone took a photo of a blurry photo of the moon - so the data on craters etc was simply not there. The photo came out with the craters etc ie reconstructed from other images of the moon. Another instance was a photo of the Hollywood sign being 'improved' - with one letter which was somewhat indistinct in the original being replaced by a different letter.

Magpiecomplex · 03/01/2025 12:51

Sorry, should add I was only referring to text in AI images there. Errol is quite right that AI generated text, as text, should be able to replicate spelling! Which makes me wonder if we're going to end up with a vicious cycle of poor spelling begetting even poorer spelling. Or a viscous cycle, if you prefer 😉
