I especially love that top picture of toddler Boily.

Wizzard? See my baby jive?

The impromptu 70s night is brilliant but I need bed.

I can explain why the woman talking about AI is wrong and also some of what goes on behind the scenes to make AI more accurate/human because I do some work in training AI models. However, it is late and I'm on a device so I can't type as quickly as on a laptop.

I will do some explains tomorrow.

Then we shall end the night on Cakes wizard request and look forward to your dissertation tomorrow 😘

I have think the gerbils have been knocking the drinks back somewhat!

They're starting to slur their words at this point!

I love the gerbils 70s party. It looks like my idea of a good time ( although I was more Wishbone Ash than Grease). I hope they aren't too hungover this morning- can i hear little gerbilly moans and groans??

DeanElderberry · 07/01/2025 07:41

Threatening Union Jacks all over the place, telling me I wouldn't be welcome.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 07/01/2025 10:17

Are we snowed in, in the Bluestocking? I've got no snow at all here, and I'm feeling left out. We live in an area that is ringed by hills and the Clyde, and for some reason this means that, when other places nearby are feet deep in snow, we get nothing. When we moved from Essex to Scotland, the boys were convinced this would mean they'd get snow days from school - they'd never had one - but the first winter we were here, Essex was badly hit, and all three of their old schools closed, but we saw no snow here - they were deeply disappointed!

I'm all alone today - ds3 is at work, and dh has gone down to London for the day - on the 4.28 from Glasgow - so I can watch whatever I want on the TV, and eat ping curry for my dinner.

I wonder if the Union Jacks are the AI way of making it a British scene, because AI originates (or this one does) in America, and people will only know it is British if there's a Union Jack or two emblazoned all over the scene. Another reason to despise AI!

inkymoose · 07/01/2025 10:36

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius come along to the Bluestocking and have some fun in the snow!

p.s. What is ping curry?

I'm curious whether there was anything in the prompts for those that induced that particular 'cultural signifier'? Which I had completely failed to notice...!
My memory of the period was that tartans were much more prevalent.
I wonder what the AI would do for a gerbil Bay City Rollers tribute band? (Don't feel obliged to follow up that thought!)

Magpiecomplex · 05/01/2025 18:06

I'm assuming both @AlisonDonut and @lcakethereforeIam are fully paid up members of the campaign?

Funny you should say that, yesterday I was stocktaking and I missed popping in.

I have news though.

A - the gerbils are coming with me to Pottery this afternoon so you will be squeak free for a few hours.

B - we are out of madelines. I found the OH looking wistfully at the madeline aisle in the Super U yesterday quoting 'oh they do them with jam, and chocolate as well'. So I had to grab the trolly and make a dash for it. We left madeline free thank goodness.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 07/01/2025 11:35

@inkymoose - a ping curry is a microwave curry.

I'm loving all the knitted items in the images!

Magpiecomplex · 07/01/2025 11:40

Woley, no snow here in the South East, looks like we're about to get massive flooding though. The river near us has burst its banks in several places locally.

No snow in this bit of the SW, ( Im.close to the coast) but Dartmoor has some. No surprise there.
Possibility of some tomorrow..

Most were along the same lines as this, I just swapped out the band name song name and lyrics:

"Depict gerbils in 70s clothes in the Bluestocking pub singing ELOs "Mr Blue Sky" put speech bubbles coming from the gerbils that say "Hey, you with the pretty face Welcome to the human race!."

As for your Bay City Rollers...

So I think @inkymoose is correct its using the flag to depict British things! Although I see they had the flag up in the Osmonds Crazy Horses one as well. So who knows!

I have a handy trick to ensure little or no snow coverage. I get the snow shovel out of the shed when heavy snow is forecast and usually get rain. If I leave the shovel in the shed then that guarantees so much snow I can't actually open the shed door to get the shovel to clear the snow to open the shed door!

Chersfrozenface · 07/01/2025 11:50

Are the flags just because AI, being mainly USian, thinks "pub" equals British?

We had a little snow but it went. Lancashire to the west of the hills - those had a fair bit. It's due to get very cold again in the next couple of days.

The Bluestocking is obviously located so we have access to both coast and hills, this means we have snowy Peak Woo for playing on and looking picturesque but we don't get snowed in (or out).

Chersfrozenface · 07/01/2025 11:50

I'd have thought it'd be more likely to equate it with being Irish - lots of 'Irish pubs' in the US and parts of Europe but not sure there's many 'British' ones?
Probably futile to try to work out its 'reasoning'!
