Been driving back from dropping the youngest sprog back at Uni. I packed a blanket and some leftover mince pies in the car incase we got stuck by the amber warning (has it got a name?).

Well done, O Intrepid Cake! And it's good you made it back without having to eat the dogs mince pies

It's Amber Warning as in 'The name is Warning, Amber Warning', isn't it?

Magpiecomplex · 05/01/2025 18:04

Amber Warning has to be a stripper name, surely?

Boiled was so lucky that members of the Campaign against Real Food were taking a break in the bar.

And did you see their buffet tables?

I'm assuming both @AlisonDonut and @lcakethereforeIam are fully paid up members of the campaign?

And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the sugar rush was over...

Call the Furry Rozzers! Boily needs a night in a cell to calm down. Is "sugar bonkersness" a crime?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 05/01/2025 18:17

.. and Boily lay on the floor once again, feeling like her head was spinning.

She's definitely under the influence. Of something or other. Probably radicalised by Mumsnet, too.

😱 and NO gravy!!

And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the sugar rush was over...

It was the teatime vegetable intake that caused that!!

lcakethereforeIam · 05/01/2025 18:33

😬that might be my fault. I think I never cleaned and refilled the gravy bowsers after they were used to sober up the miscellaneous small animals.

Alas the gerbils are being policed by their own tonight. I'm being watched by an iffy looking bloke

I left the gravy off for maximum impact, i can be evil sometimes.

AsWithGlad · 05/01/2025 19:30

@Bannedontherun , what are those two things on the left of the (lovely) vegetable(s) picture? One might be a shallot but I’m not sure what it’s sitting on.

Is it something particularly tempting to beetles, a trap to lure Boily to the plate?

Magpiecomplex · 05/01/2025 19:32

Do I have to go to college tomorrow?

Some women don’t have a flat enough chest to stop an academic hood riding up and choking them (with the loop over a shirt button) but that doesn’t seem to matter. Feminism: sex and gender section?

Easily enough fixed with a couple of pins, but again that's not going to work for otherwise unclad creatures. So a bit sexist but very speciesist.

Also sizeist.

If I pin the hood to my dress, or fasten the loop over a button, the hood goes up, and so does my skirt hem. If I wear a blouse instead then the blouse rises up. If I were not so generously bebosomed I could tuck the blouse into my waistband, but the hood would probably pull the blouse out of the waistband anyway.

I am definitely not an academic, but a veteran of over 20 years’ worth of Speech Days and Carol Services at a school where staff were supposed to dress up for such events.

Bannedontherun · 05/01/2025 19:44

so what is the opposite of bebosomed as i have that issue

lcakethereforeIam · 05/01/2025 19:46

Unbenorked?
