I want him not to be able to give me the flannel that we have to be kind to the woMen. I want assurances that we do t have to share our spaces. I want to not sound like the very nervous person that am I!

Any help appreciated?

Thank you @bleughgreen . I’ve just emailed my local Labour candidate asking him to listen to his party leader ‘answering’ your question. As a pp said, I do hope the Labour SPAD’s are watching both this thread and the wide range of online articles that are reporting Starmer’s incoherent responses to you.

You’re not being asked to be kind @AGlinnerOfHope , you’re being asked to show a basic level of respect for other humans. Very different.

So where is the respect for women and girls who for many reasons are unable to use mixed sex facilities and require single sex spaces? What are they expected to do? I'm not deliberately goading you I would genuinely like to know what your response would be to someone in that position.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/06/2024 15:39

I don't see why angry is always seen as a criticism anyway. Anger can make us braver.

It's a whisker away from 'shrill'.

Misogynistic, basically.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/06/2024 15:44

I disagree. I am very angry about Labour putting women in this position, what is wrong with that?

Beowulfa · 28/06/2024 15:46

Bloody brilliant work Jane.

Protecting single sex spaces for biological women means saying NO to men.

I am concerned about a potential leader who can't say No.

Angrynotkind · 28/06/2024 15:48

I'm really angry about hard fought for women's rights being rolled back. Thank you again Jane, it must have taken so much to persevere with your question.

You have every right to be angry.

If they don't understand why you're angry, they're still not fucking getting it.

NeedToChangeName · 28/06/2024 15:51

KS went on about how he wants to protect "women's spaces". That's meaningless, as he thinks that TWAW. So, I'm assuming he thinks it's OK for a TW to be on a female hospital ward etc

I want to know if he would protect these spaces for "biological females"

You are not just a normal woman. You are Jane Hear me Roar. You are Jane the Awesome. And you are Jane the Fearless.

You are us and we are you. You stand up for us and for all the children damaged by this. That is more than normal, that is what it is to be a woman. A mother. A wife.

Thank you for being our mumsnet Jane.

PS: What's Tarzan like? Bet he's not a wimp like Keir Pathetic Doesn't Know that a Woman doesn't have a Penis Starmer

ElleWoods15 · 28/06/2024 09:27

@Ereshkigalangcleg ‘most women’.

What evidence do you have to support the contention that most women refuse to accept and respect trans identities?

I’m relieved to say the VAST majority of women I know do not subscribe to that viewpoint.

That’s because you live in an echo chamber built in gilded bricks of wokeness.

Praise from JKR!

Wow, that’s great to see.
Jane you were fantastic! I saw a hashtag on twitter “BeMoreJane” which is something we can all aspire to.

I'm asking Keir a question about women's rights on 5 live - how to phrase it?
Madcats · 28/06/2024 16:02

"Jane" thank you so much for going on air. It is being widely retweeted on X.
The BBC have been appalling at tackling this. They have a very pro-trans and "lets bury any mention of their protests and vile behaviour at Let Women Speak events". It is institutional censorship.

I would like to think the journalists are finally beginning to realise that there are a lot of pissed off women.

Pritas · 28/06/2024 16:03

JKR steps in with applause

ActivePeony · 28/06/2024 16:04

Jane - you are bloody brilliant! LOVE the bit where you sigh/laugh as he starts going on again about the past. The guy is a clueless numpty and he will not have my vote.

Buffypaws · 28/06/2024 16:05

Jane you’re ICONIC!! Bravo 👏🏽

Rightsraptor · 28/06/2024 16:06

Oh wow! What a day, Jane! An accolade from JKR and sticking it to Starmer. Bet you never thought you'd be doing that today.

I only just listened to it and Starmer was clearly sticking to his script for That Question from the Pesky Woman. He is/was a barrister - why can't he think on his feet?

I don't know who that patronising rubbish about born in the wrong body, trauma etc, was aimed at, Jane or the general audience, but he ought to cut that our right away. It's insulting.

BTW I didn't hear any reference to Brianna Ghey, who was reported as being mentioned by KS - was edited out? In fact, I dont think I can have heard everything from what others have said. I've not read whole thread, but will.

Viviennemary · 28/06/2024 16:07

AGlinnerOfHope · 28/06/2024 09:20

Here we go- you say there is no problem with legislation as it currently stands.

Why won't you listen to the women who have been trying to explain the problem with current legislation? Why have you silenced the women in your own party trying to explain the ramifications of the current situation?

He has more important things to think about than this. I wish folk would stop banging this drum. It really is getting on my nerves. Its not a huge issue for most women IMHO. It is an issue but not an important one. If I was an athlete I'd think it was important. Or in prison but I'm not.
