Rise of the far right

I am watching election news with increasing fear. The deranged Trump conspiracy theorists supporters in the US, overturning Roe Vs Wade, the far right gaining traction in Europe, some of the rhetoric here. Hell, the fact the Rwanda idea was not immediately dismissed as insane.

Then outside the West there’s the threat to women’s lives in Afghanistan, Iran…

How does this end? How does it reverse? Other than a WW2 scenario, how do we secure the safety and freedom of women and girls?

I want to be optimistic, but I’m struggling to see a route to progress. I’m hoping the much more knowledgeable souls of FWR will know.

Could you be so kind as to either give another link or copy and paste as I can't open those links. Many thanks

Many thanks. I'm not at home and due to internet restrictions, can't open Twitter links. What I did do was look up hallofraukaiser who it turns out is Marie Therese Kaiser of the AfD. I imagine that since she's a far right politician who's been convicted of hate speech, that she may be somewhat biased. If she's providing a breakdown of stats she must have got those stats from somewhere. Is there any source?

I would say that being associated with the New Right (Neue Recite) who believe in, amongst other things, Social Darwinism and ethnopluralism as well as being open to the Neo Nazi Die Heimat, would paint you in a far right light.

Of course the UK is ok. We had Brexit, getting out of the EU resolved all our problems and we no longer have uncontrolled immigration. Our farming and fishing is back on its feet and the millions pumped into the NHS have rejuvenated it.

Reform isn't a far right party. We don't have a political equivalent in the UK as those becoming embedded into mainstream European politics.

AfD is a far right party and even has an extremist faction formerly called Der Flugel. It's antisemitic, anti Muslim, in fact it openly campaigns against Islam, racist and ethnonationalist. It doesn't have a blatantly far right manifesto as it would probably be banned. It does however have affiliations with Nazis and was even kicked out of the far right European ID group for being too extreme.

I have already explained to you why AfD is far right. You have the internet at your fingertips. Perhaps you should do your own research and come to your own conclusions.

Reform is a right wing populist party. It's a fringe party that seems to attract racists

You're being disingenuous. Jonathan Kay and Mick Greenhough were removed as candidates for derogatory comments about Muslims, Jews and Africans. Richard Brown and Sandra Senior posted far right messages, Islamaphobia and racism.

Lee Bunker suggested that Diane Abbott should be deported and that migrants were bringing in disease. Stewart Sunderland allegedly reposted messages from Britain First saying that Sadiq Khan was part of the 'Great Replacement '.

Lee Anderson said that Khan had handed London to the 'Islamists'. Nick Davies resigned because of racist social media messages. Ginny Ball was removed after saying that Nihal Arhanayke should 'emigrate to a black only country.' She suggested that Dr Shogbamimu should be deported.

And so it goes on and on. It's a fringe party that attracts racists.

AFD is far right. Being popular does not lessen that. Indeed this thread is discussing the increasing popularity of the far right.

WTF is it with the denial on this thread?🤯

I see.

I draw a circle and put a dot in the middle. Let's call that the centre. Now, we move left of that centre right to the far end and that's called the 'far left.' It's the absolute extreme on a political spectrum and would include for example, Communism. Now, we move the other way, right to the end of the political spectrum and we have the 'far right.' That would include for example, Fascism.

I hope that clears it up for you.

Wasn't Keir Starmer going on about secure borders today?

Where is that on your drawing? Can you use a red crayon to mark it. Thanks.

They are far right because their views are on the far right spectrum for example, xenophobic, ultranationalist and ethnonationalist. The far right parties in the EU are anti immigration, Eurosceptic, nationalist and anti environmentalist alongside their core ideological beliefs.

The far right itself is on a spectrum and can even include elements from the centre and left. The far right tends to be undemocratic and autocratic but some factions work within democracy. Modern conceptions would be the alt right, radical right, reactionary right and can include right wing populism. Extreme far right are terrorists.
