Heard her talking about her retreat on a podcast. Looked it up. Sounds fabulous, if pricey.

Lost the will when saw this. £800ish to possibly be put in a room with a strange man that identifies as a woman?! No ta!

Another confused sex vs gender issue. So annoying. Pick one. They are different things.

QuickWash · 10/07/2023 23:18

FFS

The need to feel comfortable only seems to go one way too

Isthisexpected · 10/07/2023 23:19

I don't even understand that. So if someone identifying as female books it, only another person who identifies as female would be given the second bed, or would someone who is female possibly be allocated it too?

EightyfirstCat · 10/07/2023 23:19

They've updated this since 3 weeks ago when I read through the site. It previously just said that rooms would be single sex.

WestOfWestminster · 10/07/2023 23:22

I'd identify as wanting my own room 😬

PegasusReturns · 10/07/2023 23:40

Such a pity. I recently went on a spiritual yoga weekend and it was amazing. If there’d been a man there I’d have left, never mind if I’d had to share a room with him

You’ll pay double for that.

I wish the word gender could be obliterated from our language. It causes so much confusion/nonsense. It should be replaced by the word ‘feeling’.

MerlinsLostMarbles · 13/07/2023 13:32

If you don't want to book there then noone's forcing you. Many establishments are trans-friendly, and IMO I don't consider this news at all and don't see any need for this thread.

Jk987 · 13/07/2023 13:36

Oh god. Same sex means same biological sex. They've got it wrong.

PTSDBarbiegirl · 13/07/2023 13:36

Since she hasn't got 'Trans' as a prefix I'm assuming it's a badly worded description of single sex rooms. Have I picked that up wrongly.

MillicentTrilbyHiggins · 13/07/2023 13:39

All their rooms are single sex, but you can go in the one you feel comfortable in?
So a rapist can claim to be NB and conveniently feel more comfortable in a, female room? Lucky them.
Not so lucky for the poor women though.

TastesLikeStrawberriesOnASummerEvening · 13/07/2023 13:39

All the nope.

I used to go to a retreat centre that was women only and shared bedrooms. Now they accept anyone IDing as a woman. No thanks.

Charlotte Church is full on TWAW.

So, no, it's not a badly worded description.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 13/07/2023 13:43

For £800 I’d want my own room to be fair but I definitely wouldn’t want to share with someone with a penis.

senua · 13/07/2023 13:43

Did I read that right? £800 to share a room!? With a stranger!!!???
Definitely all the nope.

Some would say that CC has a lifestyle to fund.

I couldn't possibly comment.

Do people over the age of 12 (assuming the poster is over the age of 12) actually come out with this as an argument?

I'm happy to go somewhere trans friendly. I think places should be open to everyone.
That does not mean that I want to share a room with a stranger with a penis.

Thanks, I didn't know that. Had to come off Twitter last year due to TWAW overload. In that case fuck her.

Catspyjamas17 · 13/07/2023 14:01

I wouldn't want to share a room with a stranger full stop. People will surely want a private room unless they are booking with a friend. That's just normal and sensible for grown adults-especially when you are paying a fair whack for the experience. I haven't shared a room with anyone I didn't know since I went backpacking when I was 21.

ssd · 13/07/2023 14:08

800 quid to do a load of wanky bollocks you could do yourself.

More money than sense

bryceQ · 13/07/2023 14:09

I organise retreats, we don't put strangers in the same room and certainly wouldn't do different sex even if we did. Plus £800 a night?!?!?! What.

There's every need for this thread. Because of comments like yours. It is indeed news for women and very important that we don't lose site of that.

Identify how you like, nobody's stopping you. Just don't impact on women and their rights.
