It's not about excluding trans people, it's about excluding male people from women only spaces and that would mean a room I am sleeping/getting changed in.

That’s how I feel too. Last time I shared a room with a stranger (a female like me) I was 18.

Apart from that I don‘t think that the text in the OP was just badly worded. „Someone identifying as male or female” rather than just “someone male or female” says it all.

Quite sneaky, really - “Will I be sharing with same sex?” “Yes, you will be sharing with same gender!”

I don't want to share a bathroom with a room with a man thanks, so now I'm excluded from this activity because a man's feelings of validation are more important than my privacy and safety.

Plus people being paired up with strangers in a bedroom sounds...er...do you think anyone has done a risk assessment?

Would be an absolute minimal issue and risk if women were with women

Bookings by women will be down. I very much doubt women would be attracted to the idea of spending so much money for mixed sex dorms.

Yeah, it's a weird take that being "trans friendly" necessitates people sharing intimate spaces with non intimate friends/strangers of the opposite sex when that is generally not socially accetable simply because the sharer has a trans identity.

I'm no longer surprised that people are willing to throw women to the wolves, but I am surprised that people are so blasé about the possibility of being sued to fuck when something goes very badly wrong as a result of this kind of policy.

I was told just this week by a woman I know that both her and her 9yr old would be happy to have transgirls in their sports as they are inclusive, unlike bigoted old me.
Poor 9yr old who I bet won't feel the same at 13, and probably has no idea of the implications now given she's 9 and autistic....

From what I’ve seen of this ‘retreat’, it’s a complete QuackShack, designed to part the well off snake oil enthusiast from their cash.

They aren’t dorms. They’re 2 bed rooms at 870-1000+ a pop per bed (3 nights).

£800 for the 3 night stay, per bed.

No en-suite ether watched the series when she was renovating it
it was her way or no way people advising her what the paying public want and she ignored the experts

Ha I have watched too many American college dramas. I pictured the American college type ‘dorms’ with two to a room. These always seemed luxuriously furnished compared to the basic, but thankfully single, university accommodation which is the norm here. It’s always puzzled me why so many American colleges have two to a room historically.

I just had a look at the booking form, just out of interest. The first question is 'gender' with an option for 'male' or 'female'. Further down the form it asks again for 'gender'. This time with the choices 'male' 'female' and 'non binary'

Do they think my gender might have changed whilst answering the first few questions?
