Backstory - I am a member of a what's app group for a local fitness group. Mixed gender (95% women), pay to attend, with a female instructor leading the classes. Leader uses what's app group to tell us of times, equipment etc.

Today this image is sent to the group by a male member..no explanation. Would you expect the instructor to say something? I have replied asking if he meant to send it to our group.

I would call him out as you've done and mark him down as a bit of a twat but dont know what more you could do

It's purely used for class info - no funny memes. I'm also disappointed that no one else seemed to comment on his ridiculous 1930's 'humour". It's of my opinion that if you don't call this kind of nonsense out, it carries on.

Of course the best response has come from the team themselves. They have been tearing up the form book in this tournament. Has anyone actually watched them? Outrageously good. Free flowing football, and unlike the men's team, they go looking for goals for 90 minutes.

On the positive side I've seen footage of thousands of fans - women, men, girls and boys - going absolutely crazy in the grounds and fan zones. In the grand scheme of things, this crappy joke means zero compared to the prestige and elevated profile of women's football in this country. You might want to point that out to this clown. I've been slightly surprised that the tournament hasn't received any comment on this board. Every match has been the first story on the 10 o'clock news. Don't we like positive news here?
