Last night I lost my FWB

Somehow we got onto the topic of trans issues.
For context he is Canadian and I am Australian and we are in Australia.

He got on a bandwagon about trans issues I said while I accept everyone's right to identify how they want to the core fact is sex and gender are 2 seperate entities and that you cannot change sex no matter what you Do.
Well. This led to a 90 minute argument, me stating my case many ways and giving multiple examples, him calling me racist?and that Canada is so much further ahead and we are backwards in the west.
Any time I bought up sport issues, toilets, autistic females etc he shut me down and said I was fear mongering.

Right at the end when I asked what was needed to make a baby and can a biological male have a child he was like "well obviously not" and then again got on a high horse about transrights.

The worst part was he lives and hour away, had drunk so had to stay. Needless to say I need a new fwb.

I actually recorded the argument (and told him) and listening back today my blood is boiling.

Damn I didn't bring up that would he be happy to sleep with someone who identifies as a woman.

@CorrBlimeyGG I have am 11yo autistic daughter and the population of autistic females who are coming out as trans is a huge subgroup- especially once they have been exposed to online activities.

I said to him "imagine you have a daughter, she is good at sport she is 3rd best in the nation and man who is an average sports person decides to identify as a woman and takes the spot your daughter has trained her whole life for" he didn't have an answer, called me feat mongering, I bought up the weightlifting in sport. It was so heated I was actually so proud of myself as usually become a blubbering mess in confrontation.
I was like sex and gender are different. Gender is a social construct we have created as humans. There is no gender in the animal kingdom only sex. He was like someone takes hormones and has a surgery doesn't make them change sex. I was then like imagine you die and someone finds your bones. They do testing on them and the DNA they find will identify if you are male in female. Not what gender you liked to identify with.

He then bougt up intersex and I was like we both know that it is not related to this topic.

He apologised today and again he respects me for standing my ground blah blah but a new fwb is needed. Which is a shame as prior to this I was so attracted to his intellect and personality

I think at that point if I were him, I would have left. Whether or not he is in the wrong that's a strange thing to do. I wouldn't be happy with a friend, with or without "benefits" recording our conversation.

@KimikosNightmare I did this from my own insecurity. When I would argue with my ex He would say I said things I didn't or say he said things I didn't and I would literally question my sanity. I didn't want this guy to basically put words in my mouth
We were a bit drunk and in hind sight I shouldn't have done it.

I suppose the idea that two people could agree to disagree on an issue wasn't an option. You do realise that having this sort of stand up slanging match does not convince anybody and that logic does not necessarily convince people that their view is right or wrong. I happen to disagree with you but I don't feel compelled to try to change your mind and doubt that I could do so. It doesn't mean either of us are bad people.
