I’m with you. There was no doubt in my mind that he was responsible for her death. Poor woman.

There aren’t enough insulting expletives to describe that disgusting man.

Yep - of course.

I’m sadly not surprised. How awful.

I had the same feeling. Poor, poor woman 🙁

There was never a doubt in my mind that it was him. Poor woman.

I agree with everyone

Seemed obvious to me but i know that the police need to work slowly and surely

Yes, it seemed obvious immediately, guess they had to have proof first. Glad the data from her fitbit could be used.

Yes, many of us thought it didn't add up. How awful. Evil fucking man. RIP Caroline

I did have a quick look for a post but didn't see that one.

I just mentioned it to my husband who hasn't heard anything about the case.... he said "god it's like you think it always the husband".... Hmm

His original story sounded extremely implausible.

When I saw the headline I knew exactly who it was going to be. I thought exactly the same thing when she died.

It was his appearing in front of the press at what was supposed to be the most devastating time of his life that got me.

Arsehole.

They always give themselves away by doing that, it's just so obvious! Every single fucking time.
Sick bastard.

Deliberately posting with my slightly public user name for this one.

This Athens cases reminds me of this
www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk/2009/oct/14/hammer-attack-pregnant-girlfriend-wales

One of my friends was in the back of the ambulance for her transfer to the neurosurgical unit. Normally family wouldn't travel with the patients in these circumstances but he insisted and the staff took pity on him. However one of the senior nurses said to my friend, before they left a&e, that 'he' ( the husband) had done it, and that she was absolutely sure of it, the nurse was right. It wasn't a short transfer either, my friend sat face to face with the b*stard for over an hour.

What's also horrific about that Guardian article, is the Related Stories section at the bottom which lists another 8 examples of equally appalling attacks on women. Just so many examples, year after year.

What’s also creepy is that she must’ve been under 18 when they got together and he was a lot older. They married in 2018 so she was a teen bride. None of the articles have picked up on that.

I think most of the women on here knew that there was much more to that sickening tragedy, poor girl, her wee baby her family. My heart goes out to them.

This should be highlighted. Classic predatory behaviour from the start Sad

Those pictures of Caroline with her baby are absolutely heartbreaking.

@cancancan Is your DH aware that it usually is the husband?

Report

cancancan · 18/06/2021 15:53

@FictionalCharacter
He probably isn't aware of the statistics and when I have said things along that line he would think I'm exaggerating.... but I don't blame him, a few years ago I would've thought the same.

Like others when I read about the murder I found his explanation utterly implausible (how the hell would a gang have known about the cash?) and my gut feel was that he'd done it.

Feeling compounded when I realise how young she was when they got married and that he was 13 years older. As a pp said: a big red flag right there.

RIP Thanks
