Cos we haven't quite got enough going on(!), DH and I would like to TTC #3 (genuinely have thought this through!). DH had a bad episode at Christmas and is still on citalopram, just reduced from 20mg to 10mg. Anyone got experience of TTC whilst DH/DmaleP on this or complications of a subsequent pregnancy? I am currently off all my pills so that's one less worry!

I think it should be totally safe, its only when you are actually pregnant and if BF and YOU are taking it that it may be a problem but even then, I think Citalopram is a very mild and safe anti depressant

DH was (and still is) on citalopram and diazepam (sp - sorry) when we were TTC DD and we had no problems. This obviously doesn't mean that there are no risks - I haven't read any medical background on it - but his GP and psych knew we were TTC and didn't warn against it so I guess there are no significant issues.

The only prob, which your DH may or may not find, is a common side effect of citalopram is difficulty getting & maintaining an erection, so you might have to work a bit harder than usual . Other than that, go for it!
