Citalopram 5mg

I've taken citalopram on and off for a few years and find it makes me put on weight a bit. Most of the time have been on 10mg, which seems to help me feel calmer. I've reduced to 5mg, is this enought to still have any postive effect?

I have a friend who benefited from 5mg - never was on more and is off again now.

Thanks, that's interesting to know. It seems such a small dose i wondered if it could actually have any effect

It is a very small dose - most people get effect from 20mg. But if you feel that it is benefitting you, then that is fine for you. It's a difficult drug to withdraw from, and from patients I work with, they notice the difference when they withdraw from 5mg to nothing, so I would say that it is significant enough to notice the difference.
