Hi

I had my 3rd child back in sept '08 and suffered quite badly with pnd both times before.I scored quite high on that pnd assessment the health visitor does and since then I've had no support and hav been getting progressively worse over the last 18/19 months. I'm to the point now where I just feel unable to cope & everything is such an effort and I'm constantly so drained! I just don't know what to do! (

I just needed to vent in a supportive atmosphere so thanks for listening! )

Hi,

would it help for you to go to your gp and let them know you struggling? They may be able to offer support through health visitor, or talking with a counsellor or later on medication?

A friend of mine struggled without support and then discovered the sure start centres have a version called "Home Start" - where people come to your house, well one person, once a week for a couple of hours to be with you and maybe play with children or whatever can help. It is free, available by self referral or health visitor referral if you find your local number or website for sure start?

Sorry lots of info there, may not be any help - hope you find venting helps. x

Thank you so much for your advice and support. I think I'll go to see my health visitor at clinic on Tuesday and have a chat with her. Think it's getting a bit out of hand now...I was crying almost hysterically because I lost my can opener the other day.that's not a good sign.

Thanks again.
