PND or PMT: a few questions...

Since having DS3 I've been diagnosed with PND but I notice that it is horrendous the week before my period and also a couple of days before ovuation and the rest of the time I am actually pretty chirpy (so long as I get enough sleep that is: another issue!). Firstly is it normal to feel crap before ovulation as well as before period? Secondly, if anyone else reading this has bad PMT what do you take to help? I have started taking vit B6-magnesium and fish oils but only taken them for two weeks. Is it too early to feel any benefit? Thirdly, would going on the pill help? Any experience welcome! Thanks!

Hi becky

I also feel exactly the same, my goodness the week before my period is horrible, i also suffer from panic attacks and they used to be terrible before and just before i ovulated. I'm current;y on AD'S at the moment that have massively helped, but i still get a tad anxious around these times, i made need my tabs upped.

Just to let you know your not the only one, it's the crazy hormones us poor woman have to cope with.

Also i have heard B6 is suppose to be really goos, im not really sure about the pill though as im not on it.

Hi Mumsie, I ovulated this week and the anxiety and sleeplessness returned with a vengence! I thought I was going mad. I'm hoping it'll calm down now a bit until the week before my period but I am still very anxious about nothing in particular, which is a pain in the bottom to say the least as I feel generally quite happy. I'm scared to take ADs as the ones the doctor gave me (fluoxitine / prozac) made the insomnia ten times worse. I need to sleep to get through the days with three children! So this is why I am searching for alternatives. I've found out though that you shouldn't go on the pill if there is a risk you have depression! So not sure now...
