God its barely 10 o'clock and I've hard enough already.

DD is teething and is so unsettled. she has been awake since 5 and has been moaning and crying ever since. I can't put her down for a second. I carry her around in a sling most of the time but even thats not working today.

I feel like fucking screaming. or curling up in a ball and crying. have had 2 diazepam and propranolol already and they are having no effect.

Can't go for a walk, can't leave the house.

I just want to run away

have you got other dc. if not will baby not snuggle with you in bed. might do you both good to rest.

memoo · 18/03/2010 10:37

Other DC are at school, DD will only stop crying if I walk around with her, as soon as I sit down she starts crying again.

Have been giving her sticks of cucumber from the fridge to suck on. soothed her for a bit but she soon got board of it.

some times I just feel dead.

Everybody is rushing about around me living their lives whereas mine has just stopped.

I have no life anymore. I take care of my children and thats it. don't know who I am

I'm trapped in these four walls by this crippling anxiety and depression. can't open the curtains or answer the door.

am lonely but I still want to be on my own

it may help.

memoo · 18/03/2010 11:00

sorry for that memoo.
cant you get over that anxiety?
its hard i know, but try to think the positives.
baby's pain will be over.
do you use anything for it? like pain killers or jells?
its nice to be at home with your baby, carry her if she cries. she will get tired and sleep at the end.
do you have garden to go out?
wish you the best.

kildare34 · 18/03/2010 11:09

Firstly your are not alone, a lot of mothers feel or have felt the way you are feeling at the moment. I second what lucylue has said. Have you Calpol in the house? Give your little one a dose for the teeth, it will really relieve her teeth and your head! Throw your tracksuit bottoms and runners on and just power walk with the buggy even just for an half an hour.

Now, I know you won't feel like going out but I promise you will feel a little bit better. Also the walk will get the baby asleep. In the longer term, have you spoken to a family member or friend about how your are feeling and just take it from there.

memoo · 18/03/2010 11:12

I stuggle with anixety a lot lucylue, I do take medication for it from the doctor but today its not working.

I do try and think positive but its so bad sometimes that I feel physically sick. When I'm out if I bump into someone I know and have to have a chat I actually break out in a sweat, its really embarressing. Can't cope with that today.

Have given baby calpol and am using teething gel.

I do love her so very much. Hate being like this, she deserves better.

Thanks for the advice xx

Can't speak to my family about it. They really won't understand. DH is fab though, has so much patience with me and really does his best to help me.

Nemofish · 18/03/2010 21:53

Teething Hell is one of those things that they should warn you about before you even get pregnant. But it won't be forever, I promise.

Hang on in there, you have a lovely dh and lovely children.

Keziahhopes · 19/03/2010 00:21

Hi if you are in England you can refer yourself to Homestart, who can provide you with someone to come and be with you once a week to do what helps you, such as go with you for a walk, etc. Would this be a help?

tortoiseonthehalfshell · 19/03/2010 01:30

Memoo, you're doing your best for your daughter, and she's so little, you're giving her everything she needs by doing just what you're doing. So don't say she deserves better. She has the best; she has a Mum who loves her very much and is caring for her.

Take it hour by hour. Minute by minute. The day will pass.

lucylue · 19/03/2010 06:44

do you use anything for anxiety memoo?
i found citalopram was very good for anxiety.
if you dont want to talk anyone just go to park, there is not much people there during the week i guess.
going out really make lots of difference, especially now spring time.

choclab · 19/03/2010 06:52

Hi memoo,

Hope you had a better night ? teething is tough but will pass, sounds like your doing all the right things for your DD .its so hard when there little and cant talk tell you whats wrong , but things will get better ..x

Anxiety is awful , i to suffer with it ...mainly HA ...

hang in there xx

memoo · 19/03/2010 13:30

we had a fairly good night, she slept til about 5 and then DH got up with her til 7 when he had to leave for work.

She is soooo much happier today though. Has been chuckling away and is actually now asleep in her cot!!

I do take medication for the anxiety. I am on 60mg of citalopram and also have propranolol and diazepam to take when needed.

sounds as though things a bit better today
how many children do you have ?

how do you find the citalopram ? i have prescription for some , but keep chickening out taking them ... to worrier of poss side effects ...

memoo · 19/03/2010 20:23

I have 3 children, unfortuantely I have been here before with PND, the anxiety is the thing that really gets me.

This is the 3rd time I have been on citalopram and I have found it great. Haven't had any side effects, apart from the odd headache in the first few weeks.

I'm on a high dose at the moment but still not had any side effects.
