Mirtazipine - any experiences?

I've just been prescribed 15mg mirtazipine. I was on 10mg citalopram which i got on fine with other than the weight gain. Dr said mirtazipine less likely to cause weight gain.

Would love to hear from anyone who's taken this drug.

I am a fellow-mirtazapin-a!!

I am on 15mg too. They wanted to increase it, but I feel just fine on the low dose. In another few months I hope to be off it.

It helped me a great deal through a very tough time.

I reacted v. badly to the citalopram, so was terrified of trying another one, but I had virtually no side effects from mirt other than feeling very sleepy (which only lasted two weeks) and this was brilliant for me as I was a terrible insomniac! Had the best sleep I'd had in ages!

Have to say tho, your dr. is wrong about it being less likely to cause weight gain. It is very common to gain weight on mirt. Having said that I only gained a few pounds so nothing major to worry about.
