who has taken propanolol here?

Ad what dose did you take?

I was prescribed one 40mg tab up to three times a day.

I took one 3 times in the first 24hrs and it jsut about killed me.
I couldn't stay awake- and my heart rate dropped to 45/min

so i took a 1/4 of a tablet 36hrs after the last one.

Aand still had painc attack this eve
not as bad as previously but still had one.

I've used propanolol for years on an "as I need it" basis and haven't had any side effects (well, not that I'm aware of). I find it helpful for physical symptoms of anxiety like trembling and racing heart, but I've never suffered from full blown panic attacks so can't comment on their effectiveness for that. I think 1/4 tablet sounds such a low dose it probably wouldn't have much effect though. Are you able to predict when you're most likely to get panic attacks?

Although my anxiety is fairly mild, if I'm feeling a bit shaky I will take one 40mg tab if I have to go out/face some sort of stressful situation that might make the anxiety worse. I'll take it about 30 mins before I go out so that by the time I'm in the potentially stressful situation the medication has taken effect. I do find it extremely good for controlling mild-moderate anxiety.

I'm currenlty in state of hightened alert after having a bad eye and some procedures done with it.

I think i had full blown panic attack on sun eve.
Ended up in a and e with a blood pressure of 190/110 which slowl went away.....

And at 9pm every eve i've started feeling jittery...

It ought to pass as the side effects of the procedure pass, if that makes sense.
I'm wound up due to the drug i've been given for the eye.

anyway, 40 mg three times a day was alot for me- but maybe the occ 40mg just once isn't.

I've had 20mg today and hopefully will repeat this later.
And see how that goes.
