meds and weight gain :o(

I'm on long term meds for bipolar, quite often I have a short holiday from them and always lose a bit of weight. I'm only a couple of months back on my regime and already the weight is piling back on - I know the culprit is quetiapine as the other two (lamictal and reboxetine) both suppress my appetite. Have been through a few combinations and the alternatives to quetiapine are either worse for weight gain (olanzapine, argh!) or are ineffective or have even scarier side effects.

There are probably aren't any answers but a bit of mutual support would be nice

I'm on Priadel (it's usually used for bipolar but i just have severed depression so combine with fluoxetine) I haven't found it has increased my appetite at all. Have you tried other combinsations at all?

I gained weight on lithium (and also developed acne and psoriasis) but otherwise it worked well for me. Had to stop priadel after severe toxicity but was not too sorry to see the back of it, although it was v good mood-wise.

I suppose I want an alternative to quetiapine but the others I have tried in that group have been much worse and obviously am scared of rocking the boat.
