I have PND (DS2 is 6 weeks old). I am seeing a counsellor, which has helped with the anxiety I was feeling, however I'm still feeling low and tearful at times and have far less enjoyment of life than I used to.
Just wondering if anyone can tell me what helped their PND improve and how long it lasted for... I can't bear the thought that I'll feel like this forever.

Hi hairymcleary

I suffered with PND for about a year. Still get a bit anxious now and again.
But I found Writing everything down that happened/what your feeling and talking about it over and over again - you soon get bored.

I started to find God - might not be for everyone but has so helped me count my blessings.

Read some posts on MN about births etc... and see if you can find one thats worse than yours - it may make you cry but makes you realise how 'lucky' you are.

Or you can talk to me and we can chat about everyhting and anything.

And your on your road to recovery already as you are able to go see a counsellor which is really good. I couldnt talk about it for 2 months and in the end wrote a letter to my partner.

Wecan talk if you want?
x
