Hi there all. 2 years ago literally to the day I suddenly stopped sleeping and got myself in an awful fix about it. Ended up on citalopram for over a year. Had been very wired up before it kicked in and doctor said it was anxiety.
Have suffered disrupted sleep for a long time even before that. well 2 days ago, it started again and here I am again. managed just short of two hours last night. Previous night two hours and then about an hour of quite restless sleep before the kids got me up.
Feel calm, not like I did when this kicked off last time???!!! Not wound up in the same way. however, not sleepling is so likely to make me feel really shit!
Anyone out there offer advice?

No advice but I am a fellow insomniac so you have my sympathy. I should be in bed now but I'm wide awake

For me, it happens gradually - I really need a good 8 hours sleep. At the moment I am on about 5, which is manageable but it tends to be a slippery slope and I end up with 2 or 3 hours a night and then it makes me crazy.

I have taken various things for it but I'd really prefer to fix it but no-one seems to know how.

Hiya, I have bad insomnia takes me ages to get to sleep and sometimes I can stay awake all night. A few things I have found help - getting up early even if you have the chance to lye in - if I lye in even by a little bit then it throws me off. I use a dvd to get to sleep, one I know well so its familiar (I use friends dvds - funny, comforting and you know nothing scary will happen)

I will use sleeping tablets for a few days if my sleep pattern gets really bad just to try and regulate it again.

I dont have much good advice because obviously I still suffer so my tips cant be THAT good

There is a twilight zome thread on chat, sometimes its nice to chat to other people who cant sleep, and then try again to get to sleep...often I find just as Im getting in to an interesting conversation on the thread I end up feelin tired - sods law eh?

Oh also I need my room to be cool - or cold even. So heater off and I will fling window open sometimes.

Hope you can get some sleep
