Dizzy feeling following stopping my ADs. How long do I expect to have them for?

Last Thursday I took my last Citalopram 20mg as they ran out. I never had chance to get to the doctors to pick up a new prescription and ended up not taking them all over the weekend. I didn't really feel too bad but ever since Monday I have had the most awful dizzy feeling. I know!! I know!! I haven't done the right thing by stopping them like this. I've taken them for years now and when I've come off them before I've done it slowly at the recommendation of the GP. It's just that when Monday came and I'd missed the tablets for three days I thought that I would just try and carry on without them and see if I can fight my feelings away when they got the better of me.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has been just as daft/stupid/silly/stubborn (delete as appropriate ) and done this. How long will I get this horrid giddy feeling for?

Sparkler - I was onthis drug also and like you just stopped taking it. I fould I was dizzy 'spaced out' coming on it and again off it. If it doesn't ease off soon you should get it checked out! Hope you do well without it.x

Every time I've reduced a dose (doing a planned withdrawal, differnet drug though...) it's been about a week. I think citalopram may have a longer period of action though, so could be longer. Do you think it might be better to get some more??
