Citalopram and periods.

I have a question regarding whether citalopram can mess up your menstrual cycle.

I've been taking Cerazette contraceptives for approx 6 months and my periods ended up stabilsing by the October bleed. However, since I started taking Citalopram for PND 6 weeks ago I have had no period. I am definitely not pregnant as I have been testing, just to make sure.

I just have a horrible feeling that I'll get 2 months worth the moment I touch down in Amsterdam next week for my birthday/romantic/adult time with DP.

TIA.

im on cerazette too and have a mate who is on it aswell and its most likely to be the pill that has stopped your periods coz i havent had any since ive been on it 2 yrs and neither has my mate

how are you getting on with your ad's?

Thanks for your replies stressedsanta. My GP upped the dose last week to 40mg as I went a little (well, a lot) downhill about 5 weeks after starting them.

Yesterday I noticed that I felt a bit better, a bit more optimstic and capable. I think these pills may have worked wonders and I hate to think of what might have happened had I not gone to the GP and not taken the pills.

I'm very happy to hear that the Cerazette may stop my periods altogether. For the fist five months of taking them I must have bled for around 50% of the time. I may be able to fully enjoy my weekend next week although I have to say my mojo is definitly less and it is harder to finish, iykwim. I'm blessed with a very considerate DP though and he's willing to put in the time and effort.

Please excuse typos, have a knackered keyboard.
