Hiya Candy I hope you are OK sorry nobody replied to your post yesterday - I started on Ciprolam 2 weeks ago and I am already feeling lots better - hopefully by the end of this week you will too. Sometimes initially you do feel worse when taking them but give them time to really kick in - good luck

candyfluff · 19/11/2008 10:12

how you feeling today - sorry can log on from home so cant answer in evenings. Perhaps you need a different kind - why dont you go back to see your GP and see if he can suggest anything - it might well still be side effects that may wear off by next week - hope you feeling better today

hiya Candy - how did your weekend go and are you feeling any better?

stressedsanta · 25/11/2008 19:35

hi lulu ive name changed for xmas was candyfluff .
went back to gp on mon and she gave me propranolol to take beta blockers for the anxiety and they have helped she said give it one more week and if ad's havent kicked in by then to go back and swap them for something else.im also taking rescue remedy drops 4 times a day i think they are helping too im feeling more postive and sleeping well with the aid of kalms sleep tablets, how are you doing???

lulu41 · 26/11/2008 13:50

Hiya Stressedsanta - cool name

Glad to hear you getting yourself sorted and you sound a bit more positive.

I am doing fine sometimes cant believe the difference my ADs have made. Still yelling at the kids (so not a total cure) but much more in control of my emotions - will pop in to check how you are doing.

How did you cope with your rellys last weekend?

Bye for now

stressedsanta · 26/11/2008 19:07

didnt cope at all well with relatives down fopund it so difficult to act normal when i felt far from it.having a strange day today dh is off work for 3 days we went to town to do some xmas shopping and i felt a bit panicky but managed to keep it under control but been feeling negative thoughts today dont know why though im so unsure weather to stay with these ad's or to change them i think they should of started working by now or am i not being patient enough i just dont know i wish i could switch my brain off to all the bad thoughts its very tiring.the only saving grace is that im sleeping well and so as soon as i get up in the morning im counting down the hours until bed time again. im so scared to try other ad's incase they make me worse i really couldnt handle that.

snowcrystal · 27/11/2008 00:04

Hi stressedsanta sorry you're so anxious.
maybe go back to change tabs if no better.
can you talk to dh to reassure you?
it will pass and you will feel better. i know its exhausting and time seems to go on forever but hang on in there, take care

stressedsanta · 27/11/2008 11:35

had abad night no sleep and anxious for no real reason so went back to gp again today she wants me to try for a while longer on mirtazapine to give them a real chance to work but she has given me venlafaxine to try if these dont work have read the leaflet that comes with the tablets and it has scared the hell out of me.i just couldnt cope if things got worse.she is going to get me an appointment with the counsellor so thats a good thing.feel better that i have discussed it with someone and my mum called today and told me she loved me and hopes i get better soon so thats nice was starting to think she didnt care

snowcrystal · 27/11/2008 23:06

Hi there sorry had bad night..
Has something brought all this on or are you on any hormone treatments such as the oc pill or mirena?
Cannot help with ads advice but feel for you coping with this.
But well done for going back to gp taking action and glad you are bit better today.
I suppose you've done all the things like having a bath, avoiding caffeine, going for walksetc. Some self help books for anxiety are quite helpful.
I know what you mean about not being able to get rid of the bad thoughts, they just keep coming back on bad days.Take care hope you have good sleep.

fizzbuzz · 28/11/2008 11:03

Oh dear

That's the problem with Ad's. Going through the first few weeks before they kick in.

I startd taking mine a month ago. They have only really kicked in this week (after 3 weeks on them)

I felt dreadful on Friday, unbelievable, but now feel fine. Cripplng anxiety has just gone , and feel normal.

My (extensive ) experince of Ad's is they take at least 3 or 4 weeks to work, despite all lies about working in 2 weeks.

How long exactly have you been on them...don't forget they can make you feel worse before they make you feel better

stressedsanta · 01/12/2008 13:07

ive been on them 3 weeks now and seem a smidge better not shaking so much and anxiety is less thankgod its the pitts ,am glad i stayed with these as i felt like giving up on them ,still have the odd wobble like yesterday ds was ill and i couldnt stop myself shaking all over so scared it was something worse than a temp and cold probably something to do with the face that dd last year had pneumonia i just cant seem to cope when they get ill. when she had pneumonia i was just weaning myself off ad's when this just sent me into a mad panic and i swiftly went back on them.
fizzbuzz what tabs u on ?

Eve34 · 01/12/2008 13:27

SS - sorry to hear you are finding ot hard, well done on seeing the GP. I started my AD's about 18 months ago,anf thought that it would be ok, I thought I was putting a brave face on it and ticking along. I wasn't I was a mess, got DP to take me to the GP's twice and had AD's increased twice over a year. I finally feel I am back in control and I do not see me coming off them anytime soon. If they are enabling me to cope I do not what to go back to the way I was. I avoided the family, hated seeing anyone and hated going out.

I still struggle but grit my teeth and get on with it.

Hang on in there. Have you thought about home start? For support?

stressedsanta · 01/12/2008 13:34

had home start when ds was 7 months and was signed off from them 6 months ago but still see the lady she is a great freind and she still helps out now ,i even told her that i wished she was my mum last week !!
