Has anyone increased their ads to try and avoid pnd?

Hi, I'm 6mths pg with my second child and have been on ads for many years. After having my dd I got bad pnd and my dose was increased to the maximum possible, which eventually worked although took a long time. I have now cut back down to my original dose, but am terrified of getting pnd again. Just wondering if anyone has tried increasing their dose in anticipation of getting pnd as I am quite tempted to do this - if you did it, at what stage and did it work? TIA

I had mine increased - the psychiatrist also explained that a higher dose is needed in pregnancy due to the increased blood volume ie.usual dose would be 'lost'.

i went from 50mg sertraline to 150mg in 2 increases and the reduced to 100mg to avoid withdrawal in baby 2 weeks before edd.

she was fine and I avoided pnd despite suffering badly with previous 2 babies.

have you spoken to your dr? what do they say?
xx

Thanks, I spoke to my psychiatrist a year or so ago but he wasn't particularly helpful and said I should just wait and see what happens - which is exactly what I don't want to do! Perhaps I will try speaking to GP. Scarlett, can I ask how long you stayed on the 100 mg after your LO was born?

I doubled to 100 sertraline when I was pg with DS2. I breast fed for 6 months but had to double the sertraline again and take diazepam (DS was a twin, it was very traumatic) and stopped bfing then.
I had PND with my first son, and didn't want to go through it again.
