I've been having counselling over the past year to deal with pnd, and am also on Fluoxetine.

the counselling has helped me reach claity of mind to see that my depression madefets itself in moodswings, I'll be quite low for a fortnight or so, then my mood will change so that I'm 'artificially happy' , very bubbly and cheerful, but numb and unfeeling underneath iykwim.

Anyway, today I said about this and my counsellor has suggested I have a med review, as the fluoxetine may not be the best stuff for me, and also that I might need a referral for a proper assessment.

I am now very anxious. Please reassure me

What is it that you are you worried about?

An assessment will allow you to give a more detailed account of how you feel, what happens, what helps etc. They will probably ask questions about your background, childhood, traumatic experiences etc so they can work out how best to help you.

Some drugs are better at stabilising your mood than others.
