Mental health struggles postpartum

Looking for any advice or if anyone can relate at all. How I’m feeling at the moment feels terrifying and I’m wondering if anyone out there has felt the same whether that be postpartum or not. I’m 7 weeks PP with baby no.2. Felt ever since baby was born my mental health started to deteriorate. I’ve struggled in the past but this feels a lot heavier. It’s like my brain is trying to convince me that I’m loosing my mind. Everything that happens around me I’m deeping to much to the point where I do feel like I’m start to loose the plot even though I know I’m not if that makes sense. I can’t think clearly, but then I get these periods throughout the day where I get this real mental clarity and feel normal and all the worries I had don’t matter anymore. But once this feeling returns it’s completely takes over. I feel awful and I don’t know what to do. Have referred for therapy which is starting in a couple weeks. But I’ve never met anyone who can relate to this feeling and it feels very isolating and scary

Hi

Didn't just want to scroll past.

I'm am old lady now but had post natal depression, as they called it 35 years ago, after my first.

I remember feeling scared, and also periods of clarity. It was a frightening rollercoaster. And when it was heavy it was really really heavy. I was also on my own for the first seven months and so wanted to show that I was coping while all the while feeling as if I was living in a bit of a dream world.

I have a friend, also am old lady like me, who had very severe MH after her babies. She's a supporter of Mother's for Mother's.
