Anxiety during the daytime

I'm in my 40s single, no children and I'm a full time carer to an elderly bedridden mother. During the daytime, I'm extremely anxious, find it difficult to sit down and am pacing around. As soon as it gets dark, I'm like my old self again.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Does this video resonate? Cortisol awakening response (CAR) is a normal burst of energy first thing in the morning and during the day but it can get mistaken for anxiety.

Thank you for your reply. I don't think it's that. I've read that it can be because we often feel more is expected of us during the day.

I've had a terrible couple of years. Mum fell ill and has been in an out of hospital. One of my dogs died recently. They are/were both very elderly and they rapidly declined at the same time. Both were previously very good for their age. Ageing is extremely cruel and hard to witness in the ones you love.

I'm very isolated and rarely see another person. I have a sibling nearby but go weeks without seeing them and they are not very sensitive.

I need to get some medication from the GP.

Hi I can relate to this a great deal. I have bouts of anxiety - some worse than others. Have various coping strategies to combat it most of the time that works. However my anxiety is always worse first thing by evening Im a much more relaxed person . Will look into this

This could happen because you get tired so maybe considering help would actually mean a lot for you and you should try it.

I know this is an old post, but @LonelyDuckI’m the exact same. Anxiety worst first thing in the morning then when the sun sets it eases mostly and i feel a lot more like myself.

@potterface29Thank you for replying. I only posted a few days ago. Sorry to hear that you are suffering too. Do you take any medication? I don't but have been thinking of going to the GP for ages.
