How to "Seize the day"

Not sure if I'm posting in the right place for this but I have always been a worryer and because of that I save instead of spend money on treats/fun with the family, stick to a pretty strict routine that prevents us from doing lots of things, and instead of seeing the positive in things I always see the negative. Can anyone offer any words of wisdom, or any good books to buy to help me try and change my outlook? We're in the middle of some health scares and its made me realise that life is for living, but I can't let go of all my negative thoughts
